No caminho para Troodos, visitaremos a segunda maior barragem do Chipre - Asprokremos, e também, uma das quatro pontes da era veneziana - Chelefos. Provaremos os vinhos, visitaremos a bela cachoeira Chantara e no caminho de volta faremos uma parada para um banho na "pedra de Afrodite" onde, segundo a lenda, a deusa do amor e da beleza nasceu e desembarcou.

A barragem de Asprokremmos é a segunda maior barragem de Chipre. É construído a uma altitude de cerca de 100 m acima do nível do mar. É considerada uma área úmida importante para aves endêmicas e migratórias
Definitivamente a ponte mais conhecida da ilha. Sua popularidade se deve ao fato de ser a maior ponte de pedra já construída em Chipre e passar sobre o rio Diarizos. Encontrada em uma área de rica vegetação verde, a área de mata que a envolve é linda e possui diversos pontos naturais a serem explorados.
A cachoeira Hantara derivou seu nome da palavra "anatra", que significa "ruído da água". A água da cachoeira cai violentamente de uma altura de oito metros rolando sobre o gavro, que é uma das principais rochas da região e formando na sua base uma pequena lagoa. Situado no meio do campo, está rodeado de árvores, plátanos, hera, pinheiros, carvalhos dourados, sumagre, medronheiros, esteva, salva e lavanda, proporcionando aos hóspedes aromas maravilhosos.

É um destino popular para quem gosta de vinho caseiro, passeios por ruas antigas, visitas a casas rurais tradicionais que foram transformadas em museus e compras de arte e artesanato originais (por exemplo, joias de prata, objetos de vidro, rendas, doces e famosos pretzels Arkatena). A principal atração da vila é o Mosteiro da Verdadeira Cruz, que abriga um pedaço da Verdadeira Cruz junto com outras relíquias.

We saw a bunch of different sites which was neat. Tour guide gave us a decent amount of time to explore each site. I wish we had had more time to explore the beach at the end though — would’ve been nice to see the sunset til the end. The reason this tour gets 4 stars instead of 5 is bc the vehicle was not comfortable. It’s a jeep but the back is two long benches so you’re facing the other half of the group at all times. You basically bump around the back (though there are pipe things above so you can hold them) the whole time as well — it’s particularly rough on the off-road parts. There’s nowhere to lay your head if you want to doze between sites. Would be better if they had small buses or split us into actual jeeps or something.

All day trip in a 10 seat Land Cruiser. Interesting ,amusing driver/guide, Phil. Wonderful panoramic views. beautiful forest roads , twisty, rockstrewn tracks all handled with great skill .

Great day out and not too hard going if your fitness level is a bit low. We were taken to beautiful locations with rich history, good food and delicious wines! Was outside at the meeting point, one jeep came for another family from our hotel and told us we would be the next ones. Waited and waited but nothing came. As stated in the email, we called the jeep company as it was over 10 mins late. No answer from them. Called the tour operator who eventually got in contact with the jeep company. I was then told the jeep company messed up and we weren’t down on the list at all! We had waited outside for 45 mins to then be told no one was coming and we were offered a change of day or excursion to which I said no as we go home on Friday. To say I’m not happy would be an understatement. I have been told my refund will arrive in a few days but it doesn’t make up for the fact that we had booked this tour to explore with our children who are now extremely disappointed.

Great trip, bad communication by tour company. Delayed start as no name of the company collecting me was provided. After checking with several jeeps turning up at my hotel one driver helped by calling the third party tour company. After waiting 20 minutes past my collection time I was picked up and did have a very enjoyable day visiting lots of sites. One simply thing in providing the details of who I was waiting for would have helped get the day off to a much better start.

It was an alright trip overall. However, for my taste, we spent a bit too much time at places that seemed more like “partners” of the safari, such as the winery, the food stop, and the village. The dam was also a very mild start to the day, with not much to see. Also, be prepared for the jeep experience. While we saw several vehicles with regular forward-facing seats, ours had us sitting facing each other, which got a bit uncomfortable during the longer drives. The guide was friendly, but I didn’t feel like we experienced each stop to its fullest. After chatting with another couple, it turned out their tour included more interactive moments, like stopping at banana plantations, picking fruit, and learning fun facts. Compared to that, our tour felt like the bare minimum or just slightly above it.
