Jebel Shams, caminhada na varanda e Al Hamra Village

Com pouco mais de 3.000 metros, Jebel Shams ("Montanha do Sol") é o pico mais alto da Península Arábica. Não é incomum ver neve e granizo nos meses de inverno, e nos meses de verão ainda é propenso a intempéries. Dentro desse ambiente, está o que é comumente chamado de Omã 'Grand Canyon', um majestoso desfiladeiro semi-circular, a meio caminho da borda do qual é o 'Balcony Walk. Embora geralmente classificados como de intensidade "moderada", as quedas podem ser intensas, portanto os caminhantes devem se sentir confortáveis com as alturas. Na viagem de volta a Muscat, a vila de Al Hamra, com 400 anos, oferece alguns vislumbres da vila tradicional que viveu nos anos passados.

Itinerário
Dirigiremos diretamente de Muscat a Jebel Shams, seguindo a estrada sinuosa até o planalto mais alto
Pararemos no topo do planalto e olharemos para baixo e atravessaremos o Grand Canon. Hora de apreciar a brisa fresca e tirar fotos Depois, desceremos e começaremos a caminhada ao redor da borda do Grand Canyon, até a vila abandonada e retornaremos.
Dirigiremos para Al Hamra Village e nos maravilharemos através das casas abandonadas de tijolos de barro

Great experience! Guide was good, views were amazing. Would highly recommend doing the Balcony Walk. Good shoes or boots are recommended, but at no point is the path so narrow that you'd be scared. It is a gentle downhill slope on the way out, but that means a steady uphill climb on the way back - but if you're moderately fit you'll be ok.
The hike is an absolute highlight. At the end of the hike, a little hidden above the path, it has a lake. It is worth the 15 minutes more to hike. There and back, the hike takes about three hours.

As the name suggests, this is another exciting trek that offers an excellent vantage point from the narrow balcony-style ledge looking down into Oman’s incredible canyon. Undoubtedly, Oman is a geological paradise with diverse rock forms cut over millennia into various landforms. And for all outdoor enthusiasts like us, the W6 hiking trail is always a highlight on the Oman itinerary for all the breathtaking views it offers. Here, the canyon plunges dramatically down below while the high edges give a perspective that we’re on top of the world! If not on top of the world, pun intended, at least, we were very close to the Arabian summit. The W6 hike also led us to a cave, a natural pool, and an abandoned village situated between the gorges of the canyon. However, the most stunning aspect of the trek is curving along the inside of the canyon wall on a ledge overlooking the canyon from the top of 1,000 m-high cliffs. With little elevation gain and clear signs, this trek takes up to four hours, depending on how hooked we get with the stunning views.
