Após o embarque em seu hotel, iremos até o Jardim Botânico fundado em 1808, sua coleção contém 9.000 amostras de 1.500 espécies. O JBRJ é famoso pela exuberância e importância científica de suas coleções vegetais, assim como pela beleza de suas paisagens. Sua história bicentenária se expressa em seus monumentos, edifícios e obras de arte. A pé ou de carrinho elétrico, os visitantes podem passear pelas vielas e ver plantas de diversas partes do mundo, visitar as estufas (Orquídeas, Bromélias, Samambaias, Plantas Insetívoras) e jardins temáticos e coleções, como o Jardim Japonês e o plantas.
Após a visita ao Jardim Botânico, seguiremos para o Parque Lage, originário de um antigo engenho de açúcar, o parque faz parte da memória histórica da cidade. Projetado em 1840 pelo paisagista inglês John Tyndale, o belo jardim romântico em estilo europeu divide os holofotes com a Mata Atlântica nativa. Destacam-se também as palmeiras imperiais, os lagos e ilhas artificiais, além das grutas espalhadas pelo parque e os aquários embutidos nas paredes com vários peixes. No edifício principal do espaço, um palacete do séc. XIX, funciona a Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage (EAV) e o Bistrô Plage oferece um delicioso café da manhã, almoço e jantar com produtos orgânicos que podem ser apreciados ao lado dos eventos de arte e música que acontecem no local durante todo o ano.

The gardens are not small. Be prepared to walk and learn some fascinating facts about the history of Brazil. She also helped us decide on lunch and dinner for the next few days from the perspective of a local. 10/10

This is actually the second experience I booked with Renata. I did the Christ the Redeemer with her last year and knew when I got back to Rio that I'd need more photos. I contacted her and asked her to do the Parque Lage and Botanical garden tour WITH the Selaron steps and she accommodated me. The photos are stunning! But more than that, she knew the history around each place and was great company. I feel super comfortable with her and will likely be doing more photo tours with her on future trips to Rio. Renata, the tout guide and photographer is wonderful. She related the historical and cultural significance of the Park Lagre and the Botanical Gardens in an entertaining way. Renata is phenomenal!!!!! She is extremely professional with an awesome sense of humour and is extremely knowledgeable! My husband and I enjoyed touring Parque Lage and the botanical gardens with her and she provided us with beautiful pictures after. It felt like a friend was taking you around Rio and making sure you have gorgeous pictures also. Highly recommend Renata!!!! She picks you up from your hotel making it an extremely low stress activity.

The Botanical Gardens and Lage Park are a must for anyone visiting Rio. We were very impressed by the natural beauty existing in the heart of the city and will never forget the superb flora and astonishing wild life (monkeys, tucans, turtles and many more). We highly appreciate Renata's efforts to make the tour as pleasant as possible and value the comprehensive information she provided on the history of Brazil, Rio's landscapes and the interesting sites we visited: the Botanical Gardens and Lage Park.
