The guide named Steve has a complete knowledge of the city including the sites and restaurants. Also the food and drinks were excellent! We love this!

I found out the tour was a nogo.After I arrived at the waiting spot. It sounds like Viator scheduled the tour on a date that City Tours was not scheduling tours. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of one is that the person from City Tours reached out to me when he found out.I had been waiting when City Tours did not know that Viator had scheduled a tour. Both the person I spoke to at Viator and the man I spoke to at city tours helped smooth my disappointment. In addition, the man at City Tours really tried to help find an alternate tour that we could schedule this week. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything that worked. I've dealt with Viator before in Europe and was happy with my tours there.
We sincerely apologize for this situation. Our tours are always something to look forward to and we understand how much of a let down it must be when it doesn't occur. We are working with Viator to learn where your booking got lost and why we never received any notification on our end and hope to prevent this from happening ever again. I hope you were still able to enjoy some of the dining recommendations in the area and that we get the chance to have you on our food tours (for real) in the future.
During this tour, I learned so many new things about Philadelphia, and heard a couple good ghost stories too. The places we visited for food/drink were all really nice and the tastings were plentiful and delicious. City Food Tours were serious in the description of the tour when they say to come with an empty stomach. Our guide, Steve, was very knowledgeable of the history of Philadelphia, and was happy to answer all of our questions along the way. My friend (who accompanied me) and I were lucky to have a very nice couple as the other two people in our tour group. It was a lot of fun and by the end of the tour, it felt as if we had spent the evening out with friends. Take this tour, you will love it.

We have done many food tours all over the world and this was my least favorite. The food wasn’t great, the guide read from a paper and it was so rushed. Everyone was leaving half of their beer so we could go to the next stop.
I'm so sorry to hear about this. We are not proud of any of these aspects and will be taking immediate actions to improve our tour and ensure that future guests get the phenomenal experience that we strive for. There was a last-minute change of restaurant for one of the stops on your tour, which we apologize for the unexpected curveball, and we hope that we would have the opportunity to have you on one of our other food tours in the future to see the level of organization, professionalism, and fun that we are known for. This was the worst experience weekend ever had with viator. It almost felt like a scam. Technically it was until someone confirmed we’ve been refunded. I called to confirm the meeting place and was given directions. We arrived but no Tour guide was there. Another couple was there waiting also. I called the numbermultiple times and no one would answer. Finally 30 minutes after the supposed start time I received a call saying that the Tour guide had dropped the bell and that the Tour was canceled. It was really unfortunate as we’d flown up from Charlotte just for the day so we couldn’t even make other arrangements. Later I was contacted by the owner saying he was sorry for the inconvenience and that we’d be refunded by Viator. We shall see.
We are embarrassed by what happened with this tour and sincerely apologize for our scheduling oversight. We always pride ourselves in our professionalism and genuine enjoyment in making sure our guests have a phenomenal time on our tours, but there is no excuse to justify the tour guide's oversight of their schedule. We take our food tours very seriously because we understand that they are something to look forward to and that you had entrusted us to guide your evening. Last night my family and I experienced the Historic Old City Food Tour. Our guide was Kathy, who was fantastic! She was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. The places we visited provided us with great food and drinks. As we walked from place to place, Kathy gave us interesting and fun history lessons about Philly. I would highly recommend this tour.
