Brilliant tour guide at just the right pace to take it all in. Very informative.
Amazing tour!! Our guide, Con/Jon was personable and had good energy. Knew a lot about all the places visited, and was happy to answer the groups questions. Would absolutely recommend him to any of my friends visiting Istanbul!
We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you had such a wonderful time on the tour! Thank you so much for your kind words; it was a real pleasure having you with us.
Cem was truly a joy to have as a guide. He was knowledgeable, personable and made the day come alive. We all agreed it was a fascinating tour despite the scorching heat.
Overall, this was a good tour and we enjoyed seeing some of Istanbul’s most important historical sites. Our guide was friendly and the tour was well organized. I was hoping for more depth on the earlier Greek, Roman and Byzantine history of the sites. Hagia Sophia in particular has such an extraordinary history spanning different civilizations and eras, but much of the discussion focused on the Ottoman period and more recent events. I found myself looking up quite a few things afterward because I wanted to better understand the earlier history and how all of those layers connected. I also came across a few details afterward that differed from what we had been told on the tour. One practical challenge was bathroom access, particularly for women. I recognize this is largely outside of the guide’s control, but it did affect the experience and would have been helpful to plan around. The sites themselves are absolutely worth seeing, and the tour provides a good introduction. I just would have appreciated a more balanced historical perspective across the different periods represented by them.
everything was perfect, except that the "cistern" included in this tour is the Theodosius one and not the more famous "Basilica Cistern" of Justinian
Tour of the mosques was good. The Cistern of Theodosios, in my opinion, was pretty but a lot of extra money for a 5 minute look-see. Don’t think I would do that add on again.
Amazing tour. Highly recommend. Our guide ( feel bad but forgot his name) was amazing!!! Full of knowledge, kind, patient and looked after everyone. I know Hagia Sophia’s entry isn’t cheap however we found the tour a little on the expensive side?
Cem was truly a joy to have as a guide. He was knowledgeable, personable and made history come alive. We all agreed this was a fascinating tour and worth the time and money despite how scorchingly hot it is today
The blue mosque is just WOW. Our guide Cem (Jam) was very knowledgeable, had a good sense of humour and ran this tour well. He also gave us some tips for lunch and dinner drinks which we followed and really enjoyed both experiences.
Had an excellent, friendly tour guide who was genuine, smart and funny at times to. I am a history teacher with a million different questions and he was great about answering them with detail and grounded about anything he just didn’t know (not much!). I am so glad I went!
