Mesquita Azul
A Hagia Sophia, oficialmente a Grande Mesquita da Hagia Sophia, é uma mesquita e um importante sítio cultural e histórico em Istambul, Turquia. Foi anteriormente uma igreja (360–1453) e um museu (1935–2020). O último de três edifícios da igreja que foram erguidos sucessivamente no local pelo Império Romano Oriental, foi concluído em 537, tornando-se o maior espaço interior do mundo e entre os primeiros a empregar uma cúpula totalmente pendente. É considerado o epítome da arquitetura bizantina e diz-se que "mudeu a história da arquitetura". De sua dedicação em 360 até 1453 Hagia Sophia serviu como a catedral de Constantinopla na tradição litúrgica bizantina, exceto no período 1204-1261, quando os cruzados latinos instalaram sua própria hierarquia. Após a queda de Constantinopla em 1453, serviu como uma mesquita, tendo seus minaretes adicionados logo depois. O local tornou-se um museu em 1935, e foi redesenhado como uma mesquita em 2020.

A very interesting tour which covers all the important parts of the old town of Istanbul. Can our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and great fun. He was happy to answer any questions and made sure everyone in the group was involved. The tour was very interactive and overall a great day!
