O castelo é a residência oficial de HM o rei e partes essenciais da representação da monarquia acontecem aqui, enquanto grandes partes do castelo estão abertas durante todo o ano. Localizado em Gamla Stan ou na Cidade Velha, o Palácio Real de Estocolmo tem mais de 1.400 quartos, 11 andares e apenas 1 varanda. O Palácio é também a maior residência real oficial da Europa, ainda maior que o Palácio de Buckingham em Londres. Há muitas atrações aqui - o Tesouro com as insígnias reais, o Museu das Três Coroas sobre a história medieval do castelo e, não menos importante, os andares da Representação com as pomposas salas de desfile. Durante os meses de verão, o museu de antiguidades de Gustav III e a Igreja do Castelo também estão abertos. A troca dos guardas é popular entre os visitantes, assim como a loja Slottsboden.

Construído no estilo barroco italiano e com interiores principalmente em estilo rococó, o Palácio Real é considerado um dos edifícios mais emblemáticos da época barroca na Europa. Os escritórios da Corte Real, bem como o Museu do Tesouro, o Museu do Arsenal, o Museu Tre Kronor e o Museu de Antiguidades Gustav III estão localizados aqui.

Excellent tour of the Palace with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Avoided the crowds and learned so much with this private tour.

I highly recommend this private tour if you’re looking for a personal experience. Truly learned so much. Just wished more of the Palace rooms were open. Excellent tour of the Royal Palace by Fer with a focused discussion on the royalty, political evolution and the use of the palace. Highly recommend Fer and this tour.

Had an amazing tour with Fer who was highly knowledgeable and showed us all there was to see in the palace. She also made a few suggestions about visiting other Stockholm sights. Communication was great and we fully enjoyed it!!
