A truly raucous riot! Just GO.
OMG! SO not what we were expecting, but so much more! We saw Romeo & Juliet--but what we saw was not the traditional play but a very modernized, highly sexualized (in the best, funniest, way) performance, based upon the basics of Shakespeare's most well-known tragedy. Let's put it this way--fight scenes were conducted with dild*** instead of swords, the language was VERY blue, with many references of LGBTQ orientation--and we laughed so hard through the WHOLE thing that my face hurt afterward. I could not recommend this experience enough for people with open minds and hearts.
The venue is very small and intimate--three rows of benches--so you almost feel like you're part of the performance. If you pay for the top tier ticket, you're in the front row, and may actually BECOME part of the performance in a small way.
As for refreshments, you use QR codes on your benches to order beverages delivered directly to you throughout the show, and they offer seasoned nuts or popcorn if you want something to munch on.

Awesome!
We came here as something to do while in town for the evening with no plans and we didn’t have a lot of hope for the event, but thought it would be fun… We didn’t know it would be GREAT!!!
We decided to buy stage-side seats and we were seated right next to the area where the king & queen would sit and watch. This play is absolutely incredible! The actors and staff were all great and hilarious! I don’t want to give too much of it away, but we did it all and had a great experience. Definitely worth visiting!

Insert Shakespeare Pun Here
Incredible and hilarious. Set up in a cozy little space, there are no bad seats, but plenty of great drinks. My wife and I will definitely be return patrons.

Seating Was Horrible
The show was great but there is a massive pillar on one side of the balcony seats, so big that it cuts off over half of the show area. That’s where they seated us (we were there before over half the other guests). We couldn’t see a majority of the show. Wouldn’t go back if that’s the seating arrangement. Very bad.

This was one of the most...
This was one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had. The cast was incredibly interactive from the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out. Their energy was amazing, and everything was so well prepared and executed. I laughed nonstop and felt fully immersed the entire time. Drunk Shakespeare Chicago is an absolute must. Such a unique and unforgettable experience.

I LOVED this show!
I LOVED this show. Very small “stage” with 3 rows of seats - Stage, Mezzanine, and Balcony 😂
The actors were amazingly clever and funny! I would highly recommend!!

Must-Do!
AMAZING!!! So so funny. Artists CLEARLY know their Shakespeare, which is so impressive considering they weave in pop culture references that everyone knows without missing a beat. Our “king” was a bit obnoxious and drunk, but the artists handled it beautifully, the staff navigating the situation quietly and perfectly. Overall, great time! Purchased cheaper ‘balcony’ tix but still got ‘mezzanine.’ Super funny, for all ages (everyone from the older people to my group, early 20s, was clapping and hollering.)

Three, two, one, Shakespeare!
This troupe of actors is incredibly talented and the entire experience was a lot of fun. A lot of laughter and audience interaction, and the drinks were top notch.
