EM 1999; A ilha Robben foi inscrita na lista de património mundial da UNESCO. A ilha Robben está localizada a 12 quilômetros da costa da Cidade do Cabo, na África do Sul. Durante décadas, foi o lar de uma prisão de segurança máxima onde prisioneiros políticos, pai da Democracia e outros, estavam encarcerados durante o sistema de apartheid.
Em maio de 1913, o governo reservou o estado de Kirstenbosh para o estabelecimento do Jardim Botânico Nacional de Kirstenbosh e concordou em contribuir com 1.000 óperas Annun. a sociedade botânica foi formada em 10 de junho de 1913 e realizou sua assembleia geral em 31 de julho de 1913.
EM 1685, durante uma visita anual ao cabo, Hendrik Adriaan Van Rheede a Drakenstein, concedeu os terrenos da Constantia de Groot a Simon Van der Stel, o primeiro governador do cabo da boa esperança. van der Stel construiu a casa e usou o terreno para produzir vinho, bem como outras vegetações frutíferas e para a criação de gado.
