Relíquia memorial da participação do tio Ho no movimento anti-impostos na Embaixada Central, Hue Em abril de 1908, houve um protesto exigindo redução de impostos por parte do povo de Thua Thien Hue. O protesto ocorreu a partir de 9 de abril de 1908 e culminou em 11 de abril de 1908, quando agricultores de 6 distritos se reuniram para cercar o Palácio da Nunciatura para fazer reivindicações. O presidente Ho Chi Minh ainda era estudante naquela época, junto com vários outros estudantes de Quoc Hoc que também se juntaram ao grupo de protesto anti-impostos; "Tio Ho" usou seu conhecimento de francês para ajudar as pessoas como intérprete. O Palácio da Nunciatura já não existe, foi completamente arruinado em 1945. Para recordar este local, que testemunhou as primeiras ações patrióticas do Presidente Ho Chi Minh, o Museu Thua Thien Hue de Ho Chi Minh, Thien Hue, ergueu um símbolo de Nguyen Tat Thanh ( Presidente Ho Chi Minh) participando do movimento anti-impostos em 1908 para comemorar.

Na Ponte Trường Tiền, você aprenderá como este símbolo icônico de Huế se tornou um alvo-chave durante a Guerra do Vietnã. A ponte foi fortemente bombardeada e destruída várias vezes, cortando o acesso através do Rio Perfume e marcando algumas das batalhas mais ferozes da cidade. Hoje, enquanto você atravessa a ponte, ela não é apenas um elo vital para a cidade, mas também um lembrete da resiliência e recuperação de Huế após a guerra.
9 canhões que os artesãos de Hue lançaram no segundo ano de Gia Long (1803). Nove canhões são considerados uma das mais valiosas obras de arte em bronze. Os antigos nove canhões foram colocados ao pé da Cidadela Imperial, na entrada do Portão Ngo Mon – a cidade imperial de Hue. Durante o reinado do rei Khai Dinh, eles foram realocados para sua posição atual.
Um monumento arquitetônico da Dinastia Nguyen localizado no meio da face sul da cidadela de Hue, dentro da fortaleza de Nam Chanh, que também é o local para pendurar a bandeira da corte real.

Bem was a great travel guide on our trip to Hue! She did a great job sharing her knowledge of Vietnam's history, brought us to the local market, and we ended the trip at a very good local restaurant. She made sure to accommodate our friend who is a vegetarian. Make sure to order multiple beers!

Fascinating walk with Bem who explained much of Hue’s history from the VN perspective. There is much to learn. Would have liked more info about the Battle for Hue in ‘68. That aside it’s different to the usual tours of Imperial Hue, and provides much more context.

This tour is designed to give a broad “backbone” view of Huế’s history, from around 1310 to the present day. Within 2.5 hours, we aim to provide an overall understanding of how the city has evolved through different periods — including the French and American wars, — while also introducing local culture, the market, and everyday life. Because of the limited time, it isn’t possible to go into deep detail about every single historical event. Regarding the Battle of Huế in 1968: if you are particularly interested in this topic, we would highly recommend our Huế Imperial City Walking Tour. In that tour, we go inside the Citadel and explore in much more detail the areas that were heavily affected by the fighting during the Tết Offensive.
