I’ll start with the good. We did see animals, including giraffes, elephants, zebras, buffalo, jackals, kudu, impala, and warthogs. However, every single sighting was spotted by the guests, not the guide. Peter’s role seemed to be limited to driving the vehicle. He didn’t have binoculars available for guests, and he didn’t even have a pair for himself, so it didn’t feel like he was actively looking for wildlife. If you’re interested in spotting animals, definitely bring your own binoculars and be ready to find them yourself. The low rating for me comes down to the guide’s approach to wildlife and guest safety. At one point, when we were close to a female kudu, Peter began making calling noises and banging on the side of the vehicle in an attempt to get the animal to come closer. A guide should never be encouraging wildlife to approach people. Later, we were within five feet of two baby elephants while their mother was nearby. After seeing the guide call to the kudu earlier, some guests started making calling noises toward the elephants. Peter never corrected them or explained why they shouldn’t do that. Thankfully, nothing happened, but the situation could have become dangerous very quickly. A guide should be setting the example for respectful wildlife viewing and making guest safety the priority. Included photos to show the distance of us to the animals when the calling noises were made. The timing of the tour was also disappointing. Pickup for everyone was scheduled for 6:00 a.m. I was picked up first at 6:08, the second guests weren’t picked up until 6:28, and the final family wasn’t picked up until 6:35. When the last group got picked up, they were visibly frustrated and said they had been waiting in their hotel lobby since 6:00. Because the tour started so late, it also finished much later than advertised. We were supposed to be done by 9:00 a.m., but the first guests weren’t dropped off until around 9:40, and I wasn’t dropped off until 10:10. One family had another activity scheduled afterward and expressed that they were upset about being late. Overall, I think a short game drive in Zambezi National Park can be a nice activity if you’re simply hoping to see a few common animals and enjoy being outdoors. It’s probably best suited for families with young children or visitors who are moderately interested in wildlife. If you’re hoping for an engaging guide who prioritizes the animals safety and yours, someone who actively tracks animals, or a more serious safari experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Peter was very knowledgeable and very informative. On other game drives we did not see Zebra or Jackal's but we got to see them here including Elephants etc. Was cole before the sun came up, late June.
Our game drive was fantastic at Zambezi national park We thought to try it on our last day in Victoria falls we contacted the operator directly and booked us a private safari me and my family only and the park was very amazing we saw lions leopard and buffaloes We recommend Zambezi
Arranged a game drive at the Zambezi National park after seeing positive reviews on Trip Advisor. I’m so happy I did as myself and my partner saw loads of wildlife including many of the Big 5. It was a fantastic few hours that was made even better because we had Mufudzi as our guide. He was so knowledgable and passionate about his job that I would recommend asking for him when booking - honestly you won’t regret it. Would recommend this safari/game drive for all.
The Zambezi National Park game drive was amazing. It was easy to book direct with the operator. The tour guide, Peter, is very kind and knowledgable about the game drive. We saw some zebras, buffalos, elephants playing in the waterholes, warthogs, and a lion!!! It was a wonderful experience plus snacks up the hill overlooking the park.
We, are very glad you found it easy to reach us, and that your game drive was amazing with Peter. Thank you so much for the feedback we will always make sure we deliver the best to our future guests Thank you
We come to Victoria Falls often but had never done a game drive in the Zambezi NP. After this drive, we will definitely do it again! Very professional and knowledgeable guide and on point/ on time organisation. The National Park itself is very beautiful and has a great variety of game and birds. Our coffee break took place at a breathtaking lookout point, overlooking an open area and a pan with lots of zebras, warthogs and a variety of water birds. We definitely recommend and will be back ourselves!
Thank you for your feedback we are honoured as team galapa, safaris we hope we will host you again in tbe near future

_Jan 2026 | Victoria Falls + Zambezi Game Drive_ •McDonald was AMAZING. Did Vic Falls tour + morning game drive and he made both unforgettable. •Why book McDonald: ✓ Perfect timing at the Falls for rainbows + best photo spots ✓ Spotted a leopard before anyone else on our game drive ✓ So knowledgeable — animals, history, culture. Answered every question ✓ Professional, funny, safe, and genuinely passionate ✓ Clean vehicle, water provided, helped with everything •Felt like exploring with a local friend who’s also a wildlife expert. If you’re in Zimbabwe, ask for McDonald. Worth every cent. _Traveled as a couple_
