Once we joined the tour, it was a fabulous experience! There was no problem booking with Tripadvisor and downloading tickets from their app. I was notified of the upcoming tour but no meeting point was listed. I had to go to the details section of the page you see when you first look at available tours. I clicked on Meeting and pickup; then on the address listed: Hakanieme 00530. This takes you to the middle of a major street near the Hakanieme Market Hall I learned from other people on the tour (who booked on other web sites) that they were directed to a spot on the plaza near the Market Hall. Thanks to the tour guide checking her cell phone, my wife and I were able to join the tour on the third stop. Elodie, the guide, filled us in on what we missed and got us the food items we missed The tour then went very well. Elodie is very knowledgeable of Finnish culture and history. She answered questions of group members and showed great flexibility in adapting aspects of the tour to make a unique tour for everyone. She is a long term resident of that part of Helsinki and provided interesting details about day-to-day life in the area.

My 2 friends and myself thoroughly enjoyed our time on this food tour with Anna. She was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable about local food, customs and history. She explained the history behind the food and drinks we were eating and everything tasted great. The little cafe at the end was special and the little old lady that runs it was lovely I highly recommend anyone to give this a go.

I was solo traveling in Helsinki and I knew I wanted to do a walking food tour. I’m glad I ended up with this tour. We started in the food hall and sampled several things there (too bad they didn’t have bear meat, which I really wanted to try). The seafood toasts were fresh tasting. We then walked around the town and continued our tour, tasting creamy salmon soup and finished with dessert at a super retro spot. We even went to tour a bomb bunker (which is being used as courts and arenas for youth and adult sports at the moment). It wasn’t on the itinerary and I was so thankful to have gotten that experience. Great tour guide (Elodie).

The guide was delightful, but was inexperienced. Although promised to limit the tour to 12 people, it had 15. This volume significantly limited the experience. Yes, we all ate, but the learning and pace suffered. A refund should be offered for the limited learning due to overbooking. The guide did her best - but that cannot overcome an administrative failing. I cannot recommend this tour due to the very high charge compared to the poor quality of the experience.

A really great experience. The food was delicious and Anna was an excellent tour guide. Not only did we get a lot of nice food and drink options but we visited some sites along the way and learned about the history of Finland. Would definitely recommend this tour!
