Mãos em aula de culinária com visita ao mercado de Ben Thanh

A must do on your trip to learn how to recreate some of the delicious foods of Vietnam. We were each given a work station with individual ingredients so it was fully hands on. The chef Van was professional and spoke perfect English, was great fun and positive vibes. Lots of clear and interesting information about Vietnamese food and culture and clear instructions. The group was small and we made delicious Summer rolls, Banh mi, clay pot chicken rice and banana tapioca pudding. Great place to learn, great venue and great people. Thank you Saigon Cookery Team.

Excellent and informative tour of the Ben Thanh market. Followed by a short trip to the Saigon Cooking school. Here we learnt to make pork fried spring rolls, green mango salad with grilled chicken and finished with Lotus fried rice. We presented the fried rice in a lotus leave and decorated the corners of the lotus leaf basket with pink lotus flower petals.

This activity is perfect for any level of foodie enthusiast. Our chef - Oanh, took us on a tour of the market which is just essential viewing. Then onto the Cooking. Several courses (they change each day) which are great fun and easy to follow. The flavours are sublime and most of them could be re-created at home, with a little patience. Highly recommended experience with a team that will take good care of you.

Spent the morning at the Benh Tran market discovering very different foods. Then headed to the cooking school to make three dishes.

This was a great experience in Saigon. Joined in the Saigon Cooking Class and Market experience at the last minute and had a terrific morning. My chef and guide through the market was Oanh. She was so much fun and knowledgeable. 3 people (incl myself) did the 1 hour market tour with Oanh and it was most interesting to hear about the market and the food that could be bought. After the 1 hour market tour we were driven (5 mins) back to the cooking school where we were joined by 4 other persons to cook a 3-course meal consisting of pork and mushroom spring rolls, banana blossom and chicken salad and crisp rice flour pancake with prawns, pork and veggies. Everyone had a heap of fun experiencing the cooking and eating of delicious food. Highly recommended.
