Experimente a emoção de descer a encosta do Vulcão Cerro Negro, um dos vulcões mais ativos da América Central. A caminhada até o vulcão dura cerca de uma hora. Exploramos a cratera principal e percorremos a borda até o ponto mais alto. As vistas panorâmicas do Pacífico são de tirar o fôlego, você pode ver a cidade colonial de León, o oceano Pacífico e a cadeia vulcânica. Após as instruções e colocação dos equipamentos de segurança, deslizamos pelo vulcão. A velocidade é controlada usando os pés como freios. Quanto mais rápido você for, mais extrema será a atividade. Se você não quiser fazer o embarque no vulcão, você também pode descer o vulcão a pé.

O Cerro Negro é um vulcão jovem e único. Proporciona um cenário natural deslumbrante, a oportunidade de caminhar por um vulcão ativo, ver sua cratera e embarcar. As encostas íngremes deste vulcão negro carecem de qualquer tipo de vegetação. Uma erupção em 1999 deixou uma ampla borda de material vulcânico preto ao redor do Cerro Negro e há duas crateras menores bem próximas ao vulcão que foram formadas recentemente. A cratera – muitas vezes emitindo fumaça e gás – pode ser observada de cima, e a borda da cratera leva ao outro lado onde a imponente cadeia vulcânica pode ser vista com vários vulcões (incluindo o Telica e o San Cristóbal) alinhados um após o outro. As encostas íngremes do vulcão proporcionam uma excelente superfície para o Volcano Boarding. Esta experiência emocionante leva pouco tempo antes de chegar ao fundo. Também é possível caminhar ou correr enquanto aprecia as vistas soberbas. De qualquer forma, o Cerro Negro proporciona uma experiência única e intensa.

It's a difficult hike but worth every step up. The guide was great and motivated me for sure. It was a little intimidating but he made me and my daughter feel safe

I don't leave reviews (aside from this, i suppose) bc I believe we live in an increasingly superficial world where ppl want assurances before they chose to live. They don't want to just experience something. Anyway. This guide was kind. My 12 yo son didn't want to sled down. I had to hold him as he cried. This is hard for a father. Howwvwr, my son listened to the encouragement of the guide...to be courageous and strong, but that it was OK to not do it. In essence, he was human. He acted like a parent (which he is). I'm writing a review because of this....the guide. The tour was good, too.

Russell was the best tour guide ever. He was very attentive to us because I had knee surgery 8 months prior so I was going much slower than I anticipated and my fiancés anxiety kicked in after looking down and he consoled her and encouraged her that she would be able to continue and she did. I would recommend him 100 times if I could. The way he assisted us both throughout the hike up the volcano was amazing, he went above and beyond. He gave clear and concise directions on what needed to be done in order to slide down safely and we had the best time ever. Russell we just want to publicly thank you again.
This activity was great. The guide was informative. We knew we would have to carry our own gear up the volcano, but you were able to pay a local $5 at the start if you wanted.

Our tour guide Russel was super funny and cool. He made us feel super comfortable and motivated us to finish. It’s definitely a difficult hike for beginners but it went by smoothly as Russel made sure we were okay he would check on our breathing and how we felt. Would recommend! 10/10 experience
