What a great afternoon! Lunch included, bar service available, comfortable cushy seats, protected from weather, huge windows - what more could you ask for? Seals, sea otters, whale, glaciers were all on the agenda. And, to top it off, warm chocolate chip cookies on the way back.
What a great tour! We are Alaska residents who RV camp frequently in Seward, but on this trip we were on a day trip with the Alaska Railroad down from Anchorage, and had the afternoon available to go whale watching. Captain Wade and his crew were great, and with communication from other boats he found a large pod of humpbacks and we were fortunate to see them feeding cooperatively. He also found orcas and showed us all the usual wildlife (sea lions, otters, seals, kittiwakes, puffins, eagles, etc). The crew were super friendly, the lunch burritos were tasty, and fresh warm cookies on the ride back were much appreciated. The boat was big enough to be stable but still small enough to not have too many people, leaving plenty of space on the rails for everyone to see. This tour was enough fun that we did it in June and then came back again with different family members to do it again in July.

The trip was good but we were extremely unhappy with the boarding process and the front desk. We were travelling with our 12 year old who has autism and we requested if we could board early to give us extra time to settle down which was denied. This is the first time ever we have had an experience like this and we have travelled all over Europe and the US. We were told that if the person is not on a wheelchair, no accommodations would be provided. We had the stand in the rain for about 30mins and had a tough time managing my child's behavioral issues which ruined the cruise for us. I would not recommend this to anyone with special needs.

Our Guest Service Agents are trained to provide priority boarding for guests with mobility needs, including those using wheelchairs and other ADA accommodations. Based on your description, it appears there may have been a misunderstanding regarding your request. If this had not been able to be resolved at the front desk, we would have appreciated the opportunity to have a manager assist, as we always want to explore reasonable accommodations whenever possible. While our team is well trained in ADA boarding procedures related to mobility, we recognize that situations involving autism and other non-visible disabilities may require a different approach. Your feedback highlights an area where we can improve our training and awareness so we can better serve guests with a wider range of accessibility needs. We sincerely apologize that this experience impacted what should have been an enjoyable cruise for your family. Captain Wade and crew were awesome! We saw 4 whales, puffins, harbor seals, sea lions and bald eagles. Lunch was a Southwest Chicken burrito or chicken nuggets. And the yummy warm chocolate chip cookies at the end are great. Drinks (neither alcoholic or alcoholic) are not included.

We had a fantastic afternoon on the water. The entire crew was amazing. We were entertained by both Orca and Hump Back Whales extensively! We also saw so many other wild life. The lunch was great as well. We thought we were going to get closer to glaciers. I guess that is a longer cruise.

Licked out on the weather! It was a perfect day! Beautiful surroundings and saw great whales, otters, puffins, seals , eagles, etc. Crew was great!
