We had the best time on this tour! Britta was our tour guide and she was so warm and knowledgeable about the city. She showed us so many amazing things from art to architecture. The food was all fabulous and we were stuffed by the end. The other people on the tour were also lovely. Perfect way to spend half a day!
We had such a fantastic time on the Scranchester Eat the Streets food tour! It was the perfect mix of amazing food, local history and exploring parts of Manchester we’d never really appreciated before. Our host, Britta, was absolutely brilliant. She was so friendly, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories about the Northern Quarter while making everyone feel relaxed and included. Her enthusiasm for Manchester and its food scene really shone through. The food was excellent, with a great variety across the five stops, and we came away full, having discovered some places we’d definitely return to. If you’re visiting Manchester, or even if you’re a local looking to see the city from a different perspective, I’d highly recommend this tour. A fun, relaxed and delicious way to spend a few hours. Our family had a private tour with Rob of Scranchester - it was amazing! It is definitely a highlight of our trip throughout England. The bites and sips we enjoyed were fantastic. Rob had great history to share about Manchester.
Fantastic food tour with Rob our guide. Great knowledge of the history of the Ancoats area and the food was awesome. Lots of variety and great locations. Would recommend to anyone who likes food with a bit of history thrown in👍
Excellent food and history tour of Ancoats. Rob was an enthusiastic, interesting and very knowledgeable host. He had chosen a wide variety of delicious and beautifully presented food in multiple locations - none of which I had visited before but I’d happily go back to them all. Impromptu chatting to some locals was an unexpected and fascinating bonus!
I went to Manchester with my 11 year old son with one purpose, to help him understand what role this city played in the Industrial Revolution and in the global economics, in the late 18th and early 19th. Of course, we love food and this was the best way to explore. Britta was an amazing host, clearly a History geek like myself, and she transferred so much information to us, that I was surprised she still had energy at the end of the tour - but she had! The food was top notch and the variety and the amounts where perfect. If there was 6 stars, I would give it to Scranchester tours.
