Em uma colina rochosa que é difícil de acessar, nas margens do rio Darro, protegida por montanhas e cercada por florestas, entre os bairros mais antigos da cidade, a Alhambra se levanta como um imponente castelo com tons vermelhos nos seus desfiladeiros que impedem o mundo exterior de ver a delicada beleza que eles envolvem. Originalmente concebida como área militar, a Alhambra tornou-se a residência da realeza e da corte de Granada em meados do século XIII, após o estabelecimento do reino Nasrida e a construção do primeiro palácio, pelo fundador do rei Mohammed ibn Yusuf ben Nasr, mais conhecido como Alhamar. A fortaleza tornou-se uma fortaleza com altos rampartes e torres defensivas, que abrigam duas áreas principais: a área militar, ou Alcazaba, os quartéis da guarda real, e a medina ou cidade de corte, a localização dos famosos palácios de Nasrida e os restos das casas de nobres e plebeus que viviam lá.
Generalife é composto por uma série de grandes jardins, em que cada canto possui uma novidade e uma agradável surpresa para os olhos, com um mínimo de construções intrusivas.
Alcazaba teve função militar. A entrada para Alcazaba ficava no pé da Torre de Homenagem. Na base da torre há uma pequena subida. Uma simples passarela em forma de L impede que o portão principal seja visto de fora.
A residência habitual dos reis de Granada, sua construção começou no início do século 14. Os Palácios Nasrid são um complexo palácio formado por três edifícios: - O Mexuar é o salão mais antigo. Foi empregado para reuniões entre os ministros do rei e como um tribunal. - Em seguida, chegamos ao Palácio de Comares, que remonta à época de Yusuf I. Esta moradia foi erguida em torno do Patio DE los Arrayanes (Terra dos Mirtilos), e suas saídas SI DE conduzem à Sala DE los Embajadores (Hall of Ambassadors) e à Sala de la Barca (Hall of the Boat). - O Palácio dos Leões, que remonta à era de Muhammad V, também é uma residência real. É composto por um pátio central, o pátio dos Leões, e salas ao longo de cada lado, o Salão dos Mocarabes, o Salão dos Reis, o Salão das Duas Irmãs, o Salão dos Ajimeces, conduzindo para o mirador Daraxa ponto de vista, e o Salão dos Abencerrajes, junto com o Harem

I liked the easy access and self-pacing. I expect a personal guide would have provided more color, but this provided a good overview of the facts and history of the site.

The Map was not easy to read. Some of the tracks were closed. The price we paid was higher than it would be if we paid at the entrance directly. But still we enjoyed it very much. It is a lot to walk and good shoes are a must. As we were there it was 40 degrees but lots of possibilities to get water, even water fountains are on the path through the Alhambra. Overall a great experience for everyone.

The staff at the meeting point were great , polite, patient and well organized.. the setup for our timed visit to the Nasrid palace was perfect. It is entirely worthy !! but … We just didn’t enjoyed the audioguide. Unable to set it loud enough to cover the ambient noise . Also It was hard to follow / match where we were with the audioguide , because a lot of room looked the same… But personally, I would not take a fully guided tour with a group, that would be too painful for me .

Buy official tickets for 22 euro including places. 1065856619 Don’t buy these reseller marked up tickets The official site sells an adult ticket for 22 euro including palaces. I’d highly recommend the palaces. Google this to get the official site (trip advisor blocks sharing links) alhambra-patronato.es The .org site that is the second hit on Google is 3-4x the actual price — which is about 22 euro in June 2026

The Alhambra is an absolutely stunning place and one of the highlights of our trip to Spain. The palaces, gardens, and incredible architecture are truly breathtaking. Everything inside the complex is well worth visiting, and we had an amazing experience once we got in. The only issue was the ticket collection process. We booked through Tripadvisor, with the tour operated by GRANAVISIÓN – Movviendo Tourism Group. The booking instructions were not clear that the tickets needed to be collected from the operator's office rather than the official Alhambra ticket office. We went to the Alhambra ticket office first and then had to find the operator's office, which was stressful and took extra time. Despite this inconvenience, the Alhambra itself is magnificent and absolutely worth visiting. Just make sure you know exactly where to collect your tickets before you go.

Site to visit absolutely, magnificent. Audioguide clearly audible in French, but the explanations were not precise enough during the movements. Beautiful experience nonetheless. Majestic Nasrid Palace.
