We had a lovely guide, Noon who was very informative. All the different places were worth visiting. Be prepared it is a long journey and you are on the bus for most of it. I would recommend
Start worried 15 minutes late’ the rest of the program was respected. The guide very well and the perfect driver careful no particular worries. Good trip. Recommended.
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We’re sorry for the 15-minute delay at departure, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you again in the future for another great experience. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team
Originally I did not expect much from this day trip because my first impression of Chiang Mai wasn’t great. However, the fact is that this trip is quite worth my time and money. Both the tour guide and the driver were helpful and the itinerary was excellent in covering those attractions that I wouldn’t have visited myself. So I recommend this product to all foreigners. By the way, a taxi driver offered his service with much higher price without going to the Golden Triangle.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that the day trip exceeded your expectations and that you found it worthwhile. Your recommendation to other travelers is greatly appreciated, and we are glad that our service provided good value compared to other options. We look forward to welcoming you on another memorable tour in the future. Best Regards, Tawan Oh-Hoo Team
I found a very long tour and the only places that were really worth it were the white and blue temple. The walk in the golden triangle is SUPER GRATILESS, completely unnecessary, the black temple is actually a museum that is more or less. Looks like it was just for an itinerary. I bet they'd have better stuff to compose this otinerario.
When backpacking and needing to get from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, what better way to travel than by excursion! First stop was the Hot Springs where we breakfasted on freshly boiled eggs - they truly are, hot springs! Then onto the White Temple which is simply stunning and not to be missed, the grounds are superbly maintained and around every corner there is a surprise. Next, the Blue Temple is a vision in blue and gold. Then the Black 'temple' which is really a museum for the works and architecture of Thawan Duchanee, a Thai artist- what an imagination he had. Finally we went on a boat trip to view the border of Myanmar from a safe distance. The guide provided us with interesting information, the driver was helpful and we were dropped close to Chiang Rai where we could get a Grab taxi to our hotel. What a superb way to travel.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We’re delighted you enjoyed the excursion overall. We truly appreciate your review and hope to welcome you on another adventure soon. Best Regards, Tawan Oh-Hoo Team
Driver was careful and safe, guide knowledgeable and helpful. The eggs cooked in the hot springs were delicious. The white and blue temples are stunning. Baandam museum certainly different, super architecture. Boat trip made a change of scene. Passed on the Long neck village. We really appreciated being dropped off near Chiang Rai. A great way to back pack between cities.
Thank you for your wonderful and detailed review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the safe drive, knowledgeable guide, and the variety of experiences along the way. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re glad the tour worked so well for your backpacking journey Best regards, Tawan Oh-hoo Team
This was a full day excursion but it didn't feel as exhausting as I'd feared. We got to spend time at the intricate White Temple, the approachable Blue Temple, and the mysterious Black Museum. I was grateful to meet some of the Hill People and the Long neck tribes and see their wares. (They were honest about which things were handmade and which were mass-produced.) I always love a chance to be on the water and the Mekong River was fascinating. So much history. I appreciated hearing about Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and how the area that was once so dangerous in the heroin trade is now developing in a new direction.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the full day excursion and that it exceeded your expectations in terms of energy and excitement. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we’re so happy you had a memorable experience. We hope to welcome you again for another enriching adventure in the future. Best Regards Tawan Oh-Hoo Team
This tour was exceptionally disappointing, some of which I take personal accountability for. First I would like to state that it is important to do your research as a consumer. Reading reviews can be really helpful, and I would like to help you. Chaing Rai and the Golden triangle are a really long somewhat unpleasant distance from Chaing Mai. You should be really excited for the destination if you are going to commit to a 4 1/2 hour van ride each way. The road is curvy and under construction. Our driver was speedy. When I wasn't glad that he was trying to get it done, I was slightly afraid of the bold get in the opposite traffic moves that happened ALOT. Keep in mind, you don't pick other riders. It's nobody's fault that a baby cried half the way home. We are talking 14 hours tour. It's a day. Had i understood the destinations by doing my homework, I wouldn't Ave gone. The hot spring was essentially a souvenier money grab. So unnecessary. The white and blue temples were both built in the last thirty years. The BANDFAM is a contemporary art museum. The vibe to me is that these stops are all Chaing Rai Disney world money grabs. Zero historical significance. Interesting architecture but that's about it. The lunch was meh. Our tour guide Diamond did as little tour guiding as possible. "Maybe" five minutes of information at the beginning of each stop, as well as telling us when to be back at the van. Pretty sure she took power naps on at least two legs of our trip. She was not wearing a company uniform and did not display a licensed tour operator identification card. In effort to suggest improvements, I would recommend that your guides should be licensed, should not nap on the job, and should actually lead Tours at each stop unless handing off to a knowledgeable guide. I would not stop at the hotspring. I would go into Chang Rai proper for lunch. Chang Rai is a cute town that tourists might want to come back to if the got to actually see it.i am guessing lunch could happen there instead of a hole in the wall that looked like it was owned by the tour guides friends or family. The highlight of the tour was the extra fee boat ride at the Golden Triangle. That activity was handed off to a licensed tour operator who was GREAT. I wished I was on her day tour. That brief engagement made my friend and I want to go back to Laos. She was that good. Sidebar... there was another extra fee stop at a long neck village. To each their own but there is some seriously unethical practices surrounding these villages. As a consumer, educate yourself. As a tour operator, decide that it is morally unacceptable to bring tours to these sad sad sad refugee camps.
We visited these 2 temples in Chinag Mai and the golden triangle, with enough time to enjoy the 3 places. The Mam guide knew how to make us enjoy the experience
Thank you for your review. We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the two temples in Chiang Mai and the Golden Triangle. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable tour in the future. Best regards, Tawan Oh-Hoo Team
Long day trip, but worth it. Tour guide Matthew was very informative and cheerful and spoke extremely good english and easy to understand. Our driver Donny was great, very good driver and we never felt unsafe. We also never felt pressured to buy anything where-ever we stopped, and great recommendation from Matthew to buy the coconut icecream and blue sticky rice at The Blue Temple (not to be missed !!). We enjoyed every part of this trip and being picked up & dropped off at our hotel was wonderful. We did the additional Karen tribe visit and really enjoyed it, such a great way to experience and learn about another culture. We didnt do the boat tour at the Golden Triangle, we just relaxed, once again, interesting place to be because of 3 countries bordering the river. Van was comfortable as well.
Thank you so much for your detailed review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the long day trip. We’re thrilled the trip met your expectations and hope to welcome you on another adventure soon. Best Regards, Tawan Oh-Hoo Team
