A forma alongada e ligeiramente curvada do Lago de Zurique se assemelha a uma banana. O lago tem cerca de 28 quilômetros de extensão de Rapperswil a Zurique
O Walensee é um lago nos pré-alpes orientais na Suíça e está localizado nos cantões de St. Gallen e Glarus.
Sargans está localizado na intersecção do Alpenrheintal, que se dobra aqui do sudeste para o nordeste, e o Seeztal, que liga o vale do Alpenrhein ao Lago Zurique sem nenhuma diferença significativa de altitude.

Ilanz/Glion é uma pequena cidade no município de Ilanz/Glion na região de Surselva do cantão suíço de Grisões
A estância de desportos de inverno e saúde está localizada na parte superior do Surselva. No final do século XVII, um novo complexo de mosteiros foi construído em estilo barroco. O trem Glacier Express para aqui por 10 minutos
O Passo Oberalp liga as aldeias de Sedrun no Surselva no cantão de Grisões com Andermatt no vale de Urseren no cantão de Uri na Suíça
Andermatt é uma vila no Vale Ursen dos Alpes Suíços. O teleférico leva os visitantes à área de esqui de Gemsstock e um teleférico conecta a vila com as pistas mais fáceis do Nätschen. Ao norte de Andermatt, uma das inúmeras trilhas para caminhadas leva ao Teufelsbrücke sobre o Schöllenen Gorge. O trem Glacier Express para aqui por 10 minutos.
O Furka Base Tunnel é um túnel ferroviário de 15,38 km de comprimento inaugurado em 1982, que liga Oberwald no cantão de Valais e Realp no cantão de Uri. O túnel de base substitui a antiga rota da montanha Furka.
Oberwald é a primeira aldeia no início dos Goms. Encontra-se no sopé do Furka Pass e Grimsel Alpine Pass. A aldeia de Gletsch, que não é habitada durante todo o ano, e a geleira do Ródano também estão localizadas na área do antigo município de Oberwald.
A seção mais alta do vale do Alto Valais entre a nascente do Ródano e o degrau do vale de Grengiols perto de Brig é chamada de Goms. É a parte mais oriental do cantão de Valais. A leste é limitado pelo Passo Furka entre Galenstock e Pizzo Rotondo e a oeste pelo Weisshorn. A parte mais alta do vale ainda é chamada de Obergoms.
Brig é uma cidade alpina no cantão de Valais, no sul da Suíça. Encontra-se no sopé do Passo Simplon, que leva à fronteira italiana. Parada do trem Glacier Express, Brig é conhecida por seus banhos termais, a Capela Sebastian e o Castelo Stockalper do século XVII. Em Brig você sai do trem Glacier Express e após a visita à cidade, você viaja de volta ao seu ponto de partida de origem em um trem regular intermunicipal. De Brig a Berna leva uma hora, de Berna a Zurique/Basileia ou Luzern outra hora.
O Túnel Base de Lötschberg é um túnel ferroviário de 34,6 quilômetros de comprimento que atravessa a cadeia alpina do norte no Lötschberg entre Frutigen no Bernese Oberland (Cantão de Berna, Suíça) e Raron (Cantão de Valais, Suíça) e foi colocado em operação em 2007. Este túnel de base faz parte do eixo Lötschberg-Simplon da Nova Ligação Ferroviária através dos Alpes (NRLA), que vai de Basileia via Bern-Thun-Spiez até Lötschberg e por Brig-Simplon-Domodossola até Milão e Novara-Génova, e junto ao eixo paralelo de Gotthard, forma uma segunda via para o tráfego ferroviário transalpino de mercadorias do Corredor Europeu (Roterdão-Génova).
O Lago Thun é um lago fiorde no Bernese Oberland, no extremo norte dos Alpes.
Berna é chamada de "Cidade Federal" e funciona como a capital da Suíça. Como sede da cidade e grande parte da administração cantonal e federal, é o maior centro de administração pública do país

Domenico was fabulous. This whole experience was so unique and special. I highly recommend it. We started in Chur which is so charming. The panoramic train was so fun and the views were phenomenal. We ended in Brig which is also very charming. We then took the resin back to Zurich. Domenico was knowledgeable, fun and charming as well.
Amazing views, a must-do in the Swiss Alps. Beautiful scenery, fantastic service. Yes, it's slow moving but that is part of the experience. Order food in advance, guarantees you get what you want quickly.

It was an incredible experience of trip to ZURICH, Switzerland, and I highly suggest everyone to embark on the Glacier Express journey at least once in their lifetime. Witnessing the breathtaking Alps up close from the comfort of the train as it winds its way along the mountain peaks is truly awe-inspiring. Our tour guide, Michael Myers, was just exceptional, serving as a knowledgeable and friendly companion throughout the trip. Exploring the quaint Swiss villages in CHUR and BRIG on foot was a serene experience, with lush greenery and meticulously maintained wooden houses adding to the charm of the surroundings of great mountains touching Northern Italy and Austria. Enjoyed the experience with my partner who celebrated his 50th birthday. It was a gift so I ordered a cake unfortunately one of the waiter's on the train ruined the suprise as soon as we say down. This upset me and ruined the day but the train journey itself was a success

For a train that requires a travel ticket and a £40 seat reservation, the scenery and quality of the coach is amazing; but that’s where it stops. The locomotive wasn’t branded, and looked out of place, some of the waiting staff were abrupt, boarding rude and there was no milk available meaning no cappuccino, hot chocolate or white coffee was available half way through the journey- disappointing
Hello You are reflecting the Glacier Express train but not our tour. Pity, that we don't get a feedback about our service and you mention weird details like a "not branded locomotive" or that there was no milk available. You mentioned, that it was half-way, that results the other half-way it was available. Would like to have your luxury problems.
Our guide, Michael, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, accommodating and great company. We particularly appreciated our walking tours of Chur and Brig whilst we waited for our trains. The scenery on the express itself was mind-blowing, and it was amazing to think that we travelled over the headwaters of both the Rhine and Rhône. We saw so much of Switzerland in a single day. The food on the express was good, although it was disappointing to learn that our dietary requirements (specified when I booked on the Viator site) had not been passed on to Glacier Express catering. Despite this rather unsatisfactory lapse, we still say 5 stars - mostly due to Michael and the scenery. Vielen dank, Michael!

We took the Glacier Express from Andermatt to Saint Moritz and returned the next day to Andermatt. We left the car in Andermatt. The car park to use overnight is located underneath the Radisson Hotel. Walking time from the car park to the train station is about 5 mins. Not far at all. For the Glacier Express you need to reserve in advance and seats go quickly. You will need to pay for the reservation and then buy a separate train ticket as well. We bought the train tickets at the station. The Glacier Express arrived perfectly on time and we found our seats without trouble whilst being welcomed aboard by the train manager. We travelled in First Class and the seats were very comfortable and the space available was good. Arrangement of the seats is 2:1 across the train. The views are absolutely amazing from top to bottom (windows at an angle in the top of the train) which meant we could see the mountains, the villages, the ravines, the snow capped mountains in August! The second day we woke up to fresh snow on the mountain tops which was amazing, especially as it was the start of August. The speed of the train in such that you can easily see the magnificent sights of Switzerland and take photos as you go without missing anything. The Glacier Express staff aboard the train, on the platforms and in the ticket office were all extremely polite and welcoming throughout.

Uli is an experienced tour guide , he provided a rich historical and insight talking points on each interesting view spots, we really enjoyed travel in big with Uli.
