The guy was very knowledgeable and we did not feel rushed in any experience. Happy to answer any hand questions. I would definitely do this again.
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 We’re delighted you enjoyed the experience. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to see you again in Spain!
This excursion started off a bit bumpy but ended up being really good. We reserved a private tour but the day before the tour provider added us to another group of 10. There were just so many people in port that day, I don’t think they could accommodate everyone. The family group that we joined was very nice and we got to see everything we wanted to see, but we paid a premium for a private tour.. We did request a partial refund and the tour company did accommodate this quickly. We appreciated this.
We are glad to hear that, despite the unexpected circumstances, you had a good tour and were able to see everything you wanted to see. We would, however, like to clarify what happened, as we believe the circumstances are important. Your private tour had to be reorganized because your originally assigned guide unexpectedly fell ill. At the same time, your ship was arriving in port with thousands of passengers, which created an exceptionally high demand for guides and made it impossible to simply replace the guide or place you in another private tour at the last minute. We understand that you had booked a private tour, but rather than cancelling your tour altogether, we did everything we could to find an alternative solution that would allow you to have the excursion and visit everything you wanted to see. The fact that we were unable to provide another private guide was not because we did not make the effort to do so, but because, under those exceptional circumstances, there simply was no other guide available to accommodate your booking. Once you requested a refund, we processed it promptly and in full accordance with your request. Thanks for appreciating how quickly we handled this. We always strive to provide exactly the experience our customers have booked, but on this occasion we were faced with an unexpected illness combined with an exceptionally high number of visitors arriving at the port. In that situation, our priority was to find a solution rather than simply cancel your excursion, and we believe it is important that future readers have the full context when considering this review.
Tony was the best tour guide! So much to see and do in Gibraltar. We had a short timeline due to it being part of a cruise, but Tony made sure we got see all the highlights of this amazing place. All three of our kids agreed it was THE highlight of our entire cruise. The history, the apes, the culture-fantastic experience all around. Our weather was cloudy, so we did not get to see any of the views (to include most of the rock), but even without that, it was still incredible. Highly recommend this for an unforgettable experience in Gibraltar. Thanks again, Tony!
Thank you very much for your review! We are very happy that you enjoyed the tour and the professionalism and knowledge of our guides. We hope to see you again soon on one of our tours around Spain!
Jose was wonderful! Taking a guided tour of Gibraltar is a must! He took the time to explain the history and culture to us and gave us plenty of tone to explore on our own.
Thank you very much for your review! We are very happy that you enjoyed the tour and the professionalism and knowledge of our guides. We hope to see you again soon on one of our tours around Spain!
Gibraltar is British. The citizens can choose to be citizens of the U.K. (or Gibraltar). The national language is English. Yet our guide (who was born and raised here) spoke a heavily-accented and only semi-fluent English. It definitely affected the tour. We missed some of the history, and were (unintentionally) misled about current politics. We were most affected by the 4 or so times that we were told to go ahead by ourselves while the guide waited with the van. Each time, we asked about the timing and were never given a straight answer. Example: “When should we be back here to meet you? Answer: “It depends on how long you want to spend in the remaining sites.” We were so unsure of what to do and how long to take that we wound up arriving back 15 minutes early….actually quite a bit of time considering it was only a 2 hour tour. Since we paid over $800, perhaps they will refund us $105.35? Disappointing considering the excellent reviews.
Dear Traveller Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the tour didn't meet your expectations. We completely understand that different accents can sometimes make communication more challenging. That said, we'd like to clarify that your guide, José Luis, is a native English speaker. We appreciate that his accent may have been different from what you're used to, and we're sorry if this affected your experience. We were also genuinely surprised by your comments, as José Luis has been guiding in Gibraltar for many years and has received dozens of excellent reviews praising his knowledge, professionalism, and friendly approach. We respect that every guest's experience is different, but we felt it was important to provide that context for future readers. Regarding the free time during the tour, we're sorry if the meeting instructions were not as clear as they should have been. We'll make sure to reinforce this with our guides so guests always know exactly what to expect. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.
Interesting visit providing power does not go out and cave loses power. History was some what interesting
Hello, Neil. We’d like to clarify your comment for future travelers, because your comment feels somewhat unfair. Yesterday was the day of your tour, and coincidentally, there was a widespread power outage in the Gibraltar Nature Park. This is, of course and understandably, completely beyond our control and responsibility. Since the caves are carved into the rock and rely entirely on artificial lighting for the tour, the visit could not take place. However, our guide did his best to extend the tour beyond the usual duration at no extra cost and also took you to places that are not normally seen, to make up for the inability to enter the cave—which is something that is entirely beyond our control. We're glad you still found the visit interesting.
Jose Luis is a wonderful man whose family came to “The Rock” in the 1800’s. He has lived the history of Gilbrantar his entire life, and his tour reflects it. BOOK HIM NOW! Worth every $, €, or £.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are truly delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Gibraltar private tour with José Luis. His deep local knowledge and personal connection to “The Rock” make him a very special guide, and we are glad this came through in your experience. We really appreciate your recommendation and kind words, and we hope to welcome you again on another tour in the future!
I had an incredible time on this tou, packed with Gibraltar’s”must-dos”! Memorable day for us and def worth the money spent! Monkey Zone- So much fun and lots of laughs! Guide kept things safe and fun, and gave us tips on how to best interact and enjoy the monkeys without provovking them, like snatching your cell phone. I got lots of amazing photos of the surrounding views at the same too! -Saint Michael’s Cave: Simply surreal when you step inside. The lighting shows off the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, and the cool temp was a nice break from being outside. We were able to look around without feeling rushed. -Great Siege Tunnels: We walked through the carved passages and got the sense of the Rock’s importance to Gibraltar. Great exhibits and information from the guide too. -Other pluses: Easy, pickup was on time, relaxed pace with enough breaks for photos/snack. Def wear comfy walking shoes. Great combo of wildlife, nature, history, and of course fun! You can def get the essence of Gibraltar if your stay is short.

It’s wonderful to know that your guide was able to keep the experience fun, informative, and well-paced, while also sharing useful tips about how to safely interact with the monkeys and make the most of your visit. This was our first trip to Gibraltar and did not have a ton of time due to our ship only being in port for a few hours. Despite that, with the help of our driver and guide, Jose Luis, we were easily able to see and enjoy all the typically visited spots in Gibraltar without feeling the least bit rushed. Our guide provided so much information and history in such a short time which is exactly what we needed. This is the perfect tour for people with limited time that want to see all the highlights of Gibraltar.
Thank you very much for your kind review! We’re really pleased to hear that, despite the short time in port, you were able to make the most of your visit to Gibraltar. It’s great that José Luis helped everything run smoothly and gave you a good overview of the highlights along the way. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!
Tony was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. He was such a thoughtful guide as I have some mobility challenges. He was such a gentleman and very considerate in making sure we could navigate so many attractions. Gibraltar has many steep and windy roads and steps to navigate but he made the experience good and enjoyable for us. We learned a lot. The apes and cave were the best part. The views were spectacular.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re delighted to hear that Tony made your visit to Gibraltar both enjoyable and comfortable. His attentiveness and consideration truly make a difference, especially when navigating more challenging areas. We’re glad you were able to fully enjoy highlights like the famous Barbary macaque and the impressive St. Michael's Cave—not to mention those spectacular views! We hope to welcome you again for another memorable experience.
