Was incredibly underwhelming. Maybe there just aren’t enough good ghost stories to make a tour around and that’s why the guide included info on where Jackie Kennedy used to live and a house with a hanging “witch ball” in the window?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We're sorry the tour didn't land the way you'd hoped. We do want to offer a little context, though, because we think it might reframe what you experienced. Our Georgetown Ghost Tour is focused exclusively on ghost stories, curses, and the paranormal history of the neighborhood as we intentionally leave the traditional history stops to our daytime tours; though we are always happy to answer questions guests have related to the history of this colonial neighborhood and someone asks about the Kennedys on every tour! A witch ball is a centuries-old talisman believed to trap evil spirits and is included in our discussion on paranormal aspects of the neighborhood; past and present. None of the stops on this tour are history stops and all, even the Kennedy stories, are related to ghosts, curses, and tragedy but it is a historic neighborhood and these stories weave the history of Georgetown through the tour.
The guide was knowledgeable and knew the area. He had some great stories but they were not all the ones listed on the itinerary. No mention of the university or a few others. Not a lot of ghost stories but a lot of history which was interesting.
