Our guide, Lina, was a lovely and attentive host. We had an intimate group of five, plus Lina. I loved visiting the local places and hearing about the history of the neighborhood and of Athens. It was a very organized and well run tour, and the communication for meeting before the tour was timely and helpful (Dimitri). I loved the unhurried pace, and trying and learning about the various food. It was also interesting to meet fellow travelers from the U.S! It felt like we were all meeting up with a friend with insider knowledge of Greece. I went with grown my daughter and her friend and we all thoroughly enjoyed this experience. We highly recommend the tour.
This was a great tour to taste Greek food that felt more like a meal with a family than just the classic street food. Theo was knowledgeable and engaging, and I felt like I was truly Greek after this experience.
This food tour was very good. Our guide Lina gave us a unique and authentic Athenian food experience. We toured a quaint local neighborhood, which had a local family feel. Our guide was enjoyable to interact with. I highly recommend this tour.
Lina was a very nice guide and the food was tasty! Nice to see another neighbourhood of Athens. Easy walk .
This tour is a great way to sample authentic Greek food, and learn about the history and culture of the city. Our guide was amazing. She answered all our questions about the area, shared what to see based on our interests and was kind enough to give us the names and spellings of all the foods we tried. We started with authentic Greek coffee (and homemade lemonade for those who don’t drink it), along with Mizithropitakia, a fluffy, warm pastry with cheese inside. From there, we sampled pork and chicken skewers. Next, we ventured to a bakery and enjoyed a spinach pie, another delicious appetizer. Next, was dinner where we shared numerous homemade dishes, from fried zucchini to sausage to a meat in avgolemono (lemon and egg white broth), which was my favorite. We topped it off with a glass of Greek house wine. The night ended with a shot of warm liqueur (portokalopita) made from the byproduct of wine, cinnamon and something else I don’t remember. It was so smooth. This was in tandem with a dessert that was magnificent. I can’t stress enough how great our guide was. She made the tour so worth it! It was great to share the experience with her. We highly recommend this tour to anyone and everyone.
Niko, our guide, was very personable and knowledgeable. This tour is a great way to learn about Greek history, culture, and cuisine. 3 hours passed very quickly.
This tour takes you off the beaten track to the neighbourhood of Pantrati. The tour starts near the Panathenaic Stadium and you are treated to real Greek coffee, delectable delights, a real Greek mamma dinner with wine and desserts, and digestive at other venues. Niko or Nikolas our guide has a very thorough knowledge not only of history but the neighborhood and what makes Greek cuisine special. The groups are limited to smaller groups which makes it an intimate experience. Highly recommend.
The food tour in Pagrati was a fantastic experience! This hidden gem of a neighborhood offered delicious homemade Greek dishes, but what really made it special was Dimitri, our guide. Not only did he share insider stories about the area, but he also brought his passion as an artist to life, highlighting the typical Greek architecture around us. We even exchanged food stories from our travels, making it a truly personal and unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!
I had a great time on this food tour. We tried lots of yummy local food and had great insights about the way people live in this charming neighborhood of Athens
This was an amazing day discovering an alternative, more 'real' side of Athens. I booked this tour in order to experience something different from the busy city center, and to eat a lot of Greek food! I got exactly what I expected. Delicious food (and lots of it), a delightful guide showing us around as if we were long time friends, and a lovely stroll in an Athenian neighborhood where our group were the only tourists. This was an exceptional tour!
