From the pickup at the lodging it was good, they sent us a safe taxi, they dropped us off at the meeting point, the bus picked us up, the guide was clear, friendly, the tour was very beautiful, although we had an inconvenience that was out of the guide's hands, she overcame it and gave alternatives and we had a lovely day where we got to know Barranquilla and Santa Marta!! Very beautiful
Tour will provide a full day of sight seeing through Barranquilla and Santa Marta. For the amount of sights that are part of the tour it is amazing that it is done in one day.
We went after 18:00 on our last night, it is located at the end of the seawall and is a must and to be honest is better at night as they turn on the lights and looks more attractive. Around the monument there are small bars with screens and drinks as well as food, if you just go to the picture it does not take you more than 15 minutes, important to mention that there are no formal bathrooms, they have those portable bathrooms.
HORRIBLE explained almost nothing, we were forced to be in a hotel 2 hours waiting for some VIPs who went to a private beach... they took a long time to deliver lunch and the bus was oversold. I would not repeat this plan
The trip started later than expected, the description mentions a sandwich as breakfast but we were giving none, the tour in barranquilla is just stopping 10 minutes ish per landmark to take a picture and that's it, the tour through santa marta felt rushed, the free time in the pool at the hotel was ok, but the worst part was the bus, it was infested with cockroaches and the top compartments were dirty that all of our stuff ended up dirty and sticky, plus the cooling water( just guessing that is it) was leaking during the entire trip, which was uncomfortable, our electronics could have been damaged. TLDR; short time per landmark, the bus was dirty.
Most horrible tour experience in my life in 46 years of traveling the world!!! The driver did not know how to follow Google Maps making last minute sharp turns, braking abruptly in traffic, driving excessively and unsafely slow making it a very long 17.5 hour tour from 4:00am to 9:30pm not even following simple directions from the tour guide. Passed vehicles in the roads when passing was prohibited very slowly almost wrecking about six times!!! The tour guide was unorganized, did not give explanations at sites of beforehand, did not set time limits making it a horrible experience not respecting everyone’s time with making us wait for rude people tourists that would take a very long time in pickups at hotels and in resting stops. Horrible food that made me ill, vomit, diarrhea, fever, stomachache, headache, chills, at the beach club. Horrible beach with no loungers in beach area from the beach club, and ugly pool and facility. Did not go to two of the sightseeing places as described in Viator tour booking and did not provide the sandwich and fruit for breakfast as described, instead went to kiosk rest area in the toll road area that belonged to a family member of the tour guide and fed us a horrible egg arepa that made my stomach ache and no fruit at all. Very disappointing experience. Did not stop at monument of Aleta de Tiburon either. Gave us very few minutes at monuments. Most horrible tour ever. Nice city Barranquilla and walking tour in Santa Marta, however with local guide Mario.
This tour was very well organized and very nice. The story they told us very interesting.
Good tour, with Maria guide, good people, but some seriousness, Not sociable to be a guide, lacks joy. I think the price quite high for the tour, it does not go price-quality ratio. It was fine but not excellent. Something very important is that the bus had cockroaches, it would be good to be fumigated because they are inside the walls, and it does not look good, for those of us who have a phobia can no longer go quietly as soon as we see the antennae moving.
The experience was awesome and very in depth and learned a lot. The tour guide was amazing he helped me get around cause my back was hurting and made sure I was comfortable and was there for anything I needed he really has feelings and cares for his guests.
The spots were nice and it was nice to explore new cities. The tour was completely in Spanish despite us asking for English, but thankfully we had two Spanish speakers so we had to translate. If you are looking for lots of details and explanation this is not the tour for you. Often times, I did feel rushed to take the pictures and leave, there wasn’t much explanation past a sentence or two. Still glad we got the tour just make sure you are aware of what you want before taking this tour.
