The tour was great and the tour guide was knowledgeable. However, I do not reccomend booking with Viator!! The information on Viator said the tour started at 9:30, but when we arrived 20 minutes early we were told they had been waiting for us and were about to leave without us in one more minute!! Apparently they were trying to contact me on whatsapp, maybe Viator gave them the wrong number? We had actually tried (and failed) to contact the tour operator a few days before with a question, but Viator insists on using the in app messaging system but the tour operator does not use this system so we were unable to get a hold of them. Viator hides all other details about the tour operator so we had no idea where to find a number for the tour operator. Others on the tour had booked with GetYourGuide, go there instead I think.
The tour was good: our guide Fabio gave useful commentary and let us know when and where to meet after each stop. The Salinas Grandes were not enormous, but very cool. Bring cash for entry (it was equivalent to AU$6) and the toilets (about 50c - and these were the most basic ones I encountered in Argentina). There are locals there who will take photos of you with your phone (included in the entry price) - worth doing even if you hate being photographed, they're really good at it and you'll get great pics! We had about 2 hours in Purmamarca, which is the nicest town in the area for shopping for alpaca wool products and quality souvenirs. We were guided into a restaurant of local cuisine first which was reasonably priced, but if you want to spend more time exploring I recommend grabbing a tortilla rellena (stuffed with various filling options) from one of the street vendors instead - super cheap, hot and tasty. You can go up to a viewpoint of the town for about AU$1.50. Unfortunately, service from the booking company, La Quebrada Turismo, was poor. The pickup time from Jujuy listed on all booking sites is 9.30am, but they messaged the evening before saying to be at the meeting point at 9am. I had taken another one of their tours the day before where they also said 9am but the van didn't show up till almost 10am (with no communication in the meantime). They come from Salta, two hours drive away, where pickups take place between 7am and 7.45am, so unless they only have one pickup there's no way they'd actually make it to Jujuy by 9am. Therefore, I asked if they could provide a more accurate time and the person on WhatsApp was quite rude and unhelpful. Eventually they provided me with the guide's contact details so I could contact him for an accurate ETA on the morning. I messaged Fabio just before 8am and he promptly responded with an ETA, then called me when they were about 15 minutes away, so that was great. With improvement on the pre-trip communication from the company about pick-up times in Jujuy, this would have gotten a five-star rating from me. No-one wants to wake up early on their holiday only to spend an hour waiting outside in the cold for a pickup, not even knowing if the vehicle is still coming for them, and the guides could easily provide an accurate ETA once they're actually heading out of Salta as standard procedure.
Muchas gracias por todo, saludos !
perfect, very beautiful with a very interesting rate. The view was spectacular I recommend without any hesitation.
Muchas gracias por todo, saludos !
The guide, Ximena, took very good care of the group. She always made sure to comment on points of interest. The duration of each stop is well planned. Be sure to climb to the Purmamarca lookout to appreciate the view.
Muchas gracias por todo, saludos !
Are punctual, new car, clean with air running, attentive guide I needed to change day and it was all simple, good and fast. The only thing I think you can improve is at the time of hiring the servouche, improve the description of the items that are included. For me, it made sense that the entrance to the Grand Salinas was included in the package.
Muchas gracias por todo, saludos !
A well run tour with a great guide - cash needed for entry to salinas and if you want to go up the view point for the 7 colour hill
Muchas gracias, saludos !
It is a charming journey, with unique landscapes. A game of colors, aromas and flavors. Super recommended

Muchas gracias por la reseña !
Our family of six took this excursion a couple of days ago. Marcela was incredible. Very informative, kind, generous (giving up her seat and taking care of one of us who suffered from altitude illness). I highly recommend this trip. Furthermore, Martin, who organizes these trips, is super helpful, answering our many questions and ensuring our experience is what we want. Do not hesitate to book a tour with this company and ask for Marcela!
Muchas gracias por los comentarios, saludos !
Don't go on field trips with the bankrupt LA company. Combis are full and seats are small. Very bad experience to be 9hs above a combination
Lamentamos lo sucedido, saludos !
