Chelsea Market was fascinating. Timing the tour at 10 AM was perfect as it was not nearly as crowded as it was later on. The food selection was excellent and we learned a lot of the area history. A walk on the High Line is included as well.
The tour was just okay to me. I’ve had better food tours booked through Viator but this was my least favorite. I felt like for it to be a food market the options were lacking big time. 1/2 hotdog, a piece of cheese and a piece of chocolate were 3 of the 8 options. The guide was nice and knowledgeable though
I'm so sorry that you weren't impressed with our tastings that we clearly list on our account, and visit more shops for tastings than any other Chelsea Market tour. Were you still full after the tour? The reasons that we visit those places are because the Hotdog is homemade and consistently on top 10 lists for Best NYC Hot dog, the Cheese Is small batch locally sourced from a cheese shop that only shops within 150 miles of NYC, and the imported high end chocolate from Chelsea Market baskets really high-lites all the unique items found from all over the world. But don't forget the 1/2 pistachio twist (soo good!), homemade Italian crostata with imported ingredients, the beef curry taco (whole taco), 1/2 slice of a Roman style margarita the they specialize in, and cup of gelato at the end! Whew. We have to serve smaller portions sometimes so we can fit in so many stops, we could serve you a full hot dog, but most people would be too full for the rest of the tastings, and this is like a traveling tasting menu, not a price fix dinner with 3-4 courses like other food tours.
Joe was an amazing guide! History and the choices of foods were perfectly balanced. Businesses were happy to answer questions.

We were given a gift certificate by our son. I'm a picky eater and was a bit hesitant but when I saw all the choices of tours that were offered, we chose the Chelsea Market tour. I really enjoyed it. Joe was our guide, and he was so knowledgeable, fun and friendly. The food was very good. The one thing I didn't eat, I was able to take home so my husband could enjoy a "second helping". Make sure to visit Chelsea Market Baskets - they have delicious chocolates, teas, and fun items to buy for yourself or as gifts.

Our tour guide was Cindy and she was a blast. She shared all sorts of interesting facts and stories about Chelsea and nyc we’ve taken multiple food tours in various parts of nyc and this was the best. Highly recommend

We enjoyed learning about the meatpacking district, Chelsea market history and the vendors in the market. If we had not gone with Joe as our guide, we would have likely just walked in and eaten one place and left. We loved sampling options, no lines and all of the vendors clearly knew and liked Joe. We enjoyed then walking up on the high line. Definitely worth the time to enjoy vs just eat in the market. Come hungry bc the food samples are super generous and quite a variety.
