We had an AMAZING time with our guide Terrence. We did the 11pm tour and saw so much bioluminescence and learned a great deal about the history of the area. We caught comb jelly (and released them) and it was a beautiful setting. He took photos and videos for us for memories and it was a truly one of a kind experience. Would highly recommend and Terrence was awesome! Bugs were also not as bad as we thought, but we doused ourselves in spray and brought long pants and shirts. Recommend brining towels for after and bug spray for on the kayak. Phone camera do not do this experience justice. It’s out of this world!
It was just my mom and I on the tour and we had Javier who was wonderful! He was so sweet and funny. It was a full moon so the glowing wasn't as vibrant but it was still amazing to see! A few manatees swam near us and a shrimp jumped into our kayak! Such a cool experience and we loved it!
This bioluminescent kayaking experience was AMAZING!! Javier and Hope weren’t only experienced and knowledgeable but also fun and made it exciting and enjoyable especially for our groups being first time kayakers. Our High school seniors graduates had fun in spite of the mosquitoes. lol advice to potential kayakers TAKE LOTS OF BUG SPRAY! And anti itch cream for the following day.
We had so much fun! So so glad we came prepared- heavy duty bug spray to keep the swarming mosquitos away- it worked and we were fine. There are even portable potty’s at the launch area so we girls were fine.
There was only one guide for 9 people of which 6 had never been in a kayak. The active water way was seriously scary. A large travelling barge and shrimp boats everywhere. Lots of downed trees that could not be seen in the dark. These factors made it very uneasy. The other company had 5 guides with there group. Freedom made the best of what she had.
Wonderful experience. Freedom was a great guide. Be patient because there are a lot of people doing the same thing. Bring bug spray!
Really great experience! Terrence was very knowledgeable I would do this tour again during more of a peak season of the jellies!
Pictures on the website are completely deceiving. This is merely a nighttime kayak tour. The only bioluminescence we saw were the jellyfish he put in a jar for people to look at. Very disappointing. The guide was awesome though and very knowledgeable.
I was very disappointed when my Bioluminescence Kayak Tour was canceled on the same day due to high winds/weather. I do appreciate the safety concern but why should I have to still pay? I was not given an option but to accept a rain check. I was in the area for only two nights and neither night offered acceptable weather conditions. It seems pointless for me to travel, book a hotel plus expenses again in order to do the bioluminescent tour. Buyers beware.
That you for taking the time to leave a review for us. It is unfortunate when severe weather interferes w/our operations. We understand this can be frustrating. Operation on the coast can be tricky as we can have showers or thunderstorms that roll through last minute, that is why the we,and our competitors all employ an all sales final sales policy, as it costs us all money to pay our guides to arrive, set up and be prepared for your arrival. While we understand a no refund policy can be frustrating, we offer rsinchecks that never expire, and can be gifted to anyone of your choosing. While we do understand that we have guests from out of state, that say they will never ever return to Florida, we wllow the rsinchevks to be transferable. As you can probably imagine, if we allowed refunds for out of state guests, we would only have out of state guests on every single one of our tours. The best consensus we have found, is transferable rainchecks that never expire. This is been our policy for over a decade and it seems to work well for 90% of our valued customers, while still keeping these companies in business. All this information can be viewed on our website prior to making your reservation, under the cancelation policy. We'd have preferred not to receive a 1 star review, but that is your choice and we respect it. Respectfully, Florida Adventurer
Our tour guides were Terrence and Javier. They were excellent! Very informative and personable. We didn’t have to bring our cameras as they took pictures and videos of us for us. There was lots of history we saw a comb jellies , and horseshoe crabs. I would highly recommend this tour and would highly recommend Javier and Terrence. Thanks again! Josh,Kim ,Jen, and Taylor
