O Batistério de São João de Pisa (italiano: Battistero di San Giovanni) é um edifício eclesiástico católico romano em Pisa, Itália. A construção começou em 1152 para substituir um antigo batistério e, quando foi concluída em 1363, tornou-se o segundo edifício, em ordem cronológica, da Piazza dei Miracoli. A forma do edifício, o material utilizado, a distribuição dos espaços interiores dada pelas colunas e o espaço entre as duas cúpulas fazem com que o Batistério crie um incrível efeito de ressonância acústica, mais conhecido como Eco. O som se espalha pelo espaço, como uma onda contínua, subindo de tonalidade a ponto de sugerir a presença de um coro angelical. A cada meia hora o pessoal do Batistério faz uma pequena demonstração para os turistas: o efeito é imperdível.
A Catedral de Pisa é uma catedral medieval católica dedicada à Assunção da Virgem Maria, na Piazza dei Miracoli, em Pisa, Itália. É um exemplo notável da arquitetura românica, em particular o estilo conhecido como Pisan Romanesque.
Admire de fora a torre sineira mais famosa do mundo, a Torre Inclinada de Pisa, conhecida mundialmente por sua inclinação de quase quatro graus, resultado de uma fundação instável. A torre está situada atrás da Catedral de Pisa e é a terceira estrutura mais antiga da Praça da Catedral da cidade (Piazza del Duomo), depois da catedral e do Batistério de Pisa.
A visita inclui a Galeria da Academia onde em seu interior está o David, a famosa escultura de Michelangelo. O David de Michelangelo na “Accademia além da obra de David, há também outras esculturas e uma grande coleção de pinturas de artistas florentinos.
A catedral de Santa Maria del Fiore (visita externa), com sua bela cúpula projetada por Brunelleschi, é a catedral de Florença. A construção começou em 1296, em estilo gótico segundo projeto de Arnolfo di Cambio e foi estruturalmente concluída em 1436, com a cúpula projetada por Filippo Brunelleschi. O exterior da basílica é revestido com painéis de mármore policromado em vários tons de verde e rosa, contornados de branco, e possui uma elaborada fachada neogótica do século XIX, de Emilio De Fabris.
O Baptistério de San Giovanni fica em frente à Catedral e é o antigo centro religioso e civil da cidade, bem como uma obra-prima do romance italiano. É um dos edifícios mais antigos da cidade: provavelmente remonta ao século V, e assumiu sua aparência atual no século XI-12. Com um plano octogonal, é coberto no exterior com mármore Prato branco e verde com motivos geométricos e tem um teto de oito seções; a decoração foi enriquecida no século 16 com estátuas e bas-relieves. As três portas de bronze douradas são obra de Andrea Pisano (porta sul, construída por volta de 1330), e Lorenzo Ghiberti (norte, 1402/25 e leste, 1425/52). A porta oriental, com histórias do Antigo Testamento, abre para a Catedral e foi definida por Michelangelo como as Portas do Paraíso; todas as portas são cópias, os originais são mantidos no Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.
Adjacente à catedral de Santa Maria del Fiore está a Torre do Sino projetada por Giotto (visita externa). A Torre do Sino de Giotto é a majestosa torre sineira da Catedral e uma das obras-primas do gótico italiano. A Torre Sineira tem uma base quadrada de aproximadamente 15 metros de cada lado com reforços de canto que sobem até a coroa horizontal em balanço situada a 84,7 metros de altura.
A Piazza della Signoria está no centro da vida política de Florença desde o século XIV. A Praça testemunhou importantes eventos históricos e grandes triunfos, como o retorno dos Medici em 1530. As famosas esculturas localizadas na Piazza della Signoria fazem referência aos acontecimentos políticos de Florença. O David (o original está localizado na Galeria Accademia) foi criado por Michelangelo e posicionado em frente ao Palazzo Vecchio para simbolizar o poder da República Florentina em contraste com a tirania dos Medici. Hércules e Caco (1534) de Bandinelli, em vez disso, simboliza o poder físico da família.
Construída perto de um cruzamento da época romana, a Ponte Vecchio foi até 1218 a única ponte que atravessava o Arno em Florença. Acima da Ponte Vecchio você pode ver uma parte do belo Corredor Vasari. Este corredor, construído em 1565 por Giorgio Vasari, passa logo acima das ourivesarias que atualmente existem em ambos os lados da ponte. Encomendado pelos Medici, permitiu-lhes deslocar-se do Palazzo Vecchio para o Palazzo Pitti sem ter que atravessar as ruas de Florença, com total segurança. Na época da construção do Corredor, os açougues estavam reunidos na Ponte Vecchio, cuja atividade provavelmente atrapalhou a passagem dos Médici, que em 1593 os fizeram mudar, substituindo-os pelas ourivesarias mais "decorosas".
Piazzale Michelangelo é o ponto mais evocativo de Florença. A partir daqui você pode admirar toda a cidade com seus esplêndidos monumentos. Esta praça foi dedicada ao grande artista renascentista Michelangelo e a cópia de David está localizada no centro da praça ao lado das quatro alegorias das Capelas Medici de San Lorenzo.

★★★★★ Absolutely the Highlight of Our Trip to Tuscany! I almost canceled this excursion because of the long drive from Rome, and I am so grateful that I didn’t. It ended up being our favorite tour of the entire trip! Our driver, Artur, was outstanding. The ride was smooth, comfortable, and safe, and with a rest stop halfway both to Tuscany and on the return trip, the drive was much easier than expected. Our tour leader, Nariman, made the hours fly by. He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating history, stories, and fun facts throughout the journey that kept everyone engaged. He also proudly called himself the “best photographer,” and he absolutely lived up to that title! He happily took countless photos for everyone throughout the day and made sure we all had wonderful memories to bring home. Pisa completely exceeded my expectations. Pictures simply do not do it justice. The Piazza dei Miracoli is breathtaking, and every building is stunning. One of the most unforgettable moments was inside the Baptistry when our guide requested a demonstration of its incredible acoustics. A staff member stepped into the center and sang, and hearing her beautiful voice echo throughout the building gave me chills. It was one of the most moving experiences of our entire vacation. Florence was equally amazing. Before we even arrived, Nariman made restaurant reservations for us so we didn’t have to waste our free time waiting for a table. That thoughtful gesture allowed us to enjoy over two hours exploring this incredible city. Our Florence guide, Luis, was fantastic. His passion for Florence, its history, and Michelangelo was obvious in every story he shared. He didn’t just recite facts. He brought the city to life and made us appreciate what we were seeing so much more. The perfect ending to an already incredible day was when Artur drove us up to Piazzale Michelangelo for the panoramic overlook of Florence. Standing there, looking out across the entire city, was absolutely breathtaking and the perfect finale to an unforgettable experience. I had the most amazing small group tour from Rome to Pisa and Florence. Nariman, our guide was fun, engaging, kind, inclusive, and brilliant. Emanuele, our driver, was also very welcoming, a great driver, very observant, engaging, and handled any challenges with ease. I trusted these guys with my life. I would send my kids on the road with them. These gentlemen are such an asset to this company. They made my first trip to Italy so memorable. As a bonus, members of my tour have all become friends. We check in with one another, and have even made plans to meet up to visit in our respective cities. We were able to become friendly with another group on the same tour. Even the guide from that group was so helpful with our group. He made sure we didn’t lag behind or wander off. The restaurant we visited in Florence was so good. Our driver, Luigi, should be a NASCAR driver. He drives fast, but very carefully. He is also a great person to hang out with. Very glad to we got to meet him. Our guide, Malak, was amazing! She was very informative and kind. She even gave my wife and daughter a great place to get real authentic leather purses. She was an expert on what we were observing, and continually filled us in with local information. The best part of all, was that 90% of the time, it was just my family, Malak and Luigi. You could not have asked for a better trip. It was worth every penny!

Nariman and Roberto were INCREDIBLE!!! The tour is incredibly long at 14 hours, including 7 hours of drive time, but with these two leading the way, it didn’t feel that way.
