A Basílica da Santíssima Trindade é uma basílica menor localizada no lugar da Cova da Iria, na freguesia e cidade de Fátima. Trata-se de uma enorme igreja dedicada à Santíssima Trindade, pertença do complexo do Santuário de Fátima, dispondo de 8 633 lugares sentados e 40 000 m² de área. O projeto teve autoria do arquitecto grego Alexandros Tombazis. Foi inaugurada em 12 de Outubro de 2007 pelo Secretário de Estado do Vaticano, Cardeal Tarcisio Bertone, por ocasião do 90.º aniversário das aparições da Virgem Maria em Fátima.
O Santuário de Fátima, formalmente intitulado pela Igreja Católica como Santuário de Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima, é um santuário mariano dedicado a Nossa Senhora de Fátima, localizado no lugar da Cova da Iria, na cidade de Fátima, concelho de Ourém, em Portugal. O Santuário de Fátima é, por excelência, um local de peregrinação cristã e devoção católica, preservando a memória dos acontecimentos que levaram à sua fundação, nomeadamente as aparições de Nossa Senhora aos três pastorinhos – Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco e Jacinta Marto – em 1917. A sua magnitude e relevância do ponto de vista religioso é de há muito consensualmente reconhecida, nacional e internacionalmente. Por vontade expressa da Santa Sé Apostólica, este é um Santuário Nacional. É também um dos mais importantes santuários marianos do mundo pertencentes à Igreja Católica e de maior destino internacional de turismo religioso, recebendo cerca de seis milhões de visitantes por ano. Foi distinguido com três rosas de ouro papais e visitado pelos Papas Paulo VI (1967), João Paulo II (1982, 1991 e 2000), Bento XVI (2010) e Francisco (2017).

I enjoyed the drive and the tour of the factory that supplies Virgin Mary statues and other religious items. Seeing Fatima was an important goal for me while travelling in Portugal. The time provided even though 1 hour 15 minutes - it just isn’t long enough. The driver was great and very pleasant. Just wished we had more time. If you want to enjoy a mass - I think 2 hours is needed.
