O Santuário de Fátima é, por excelência, local de peregrinação cristã e devoção católica, preservando a memória dos acontecimentos que levaram à sua fundação, nomeadamente as aparições de Nossa Senhora de Fátima aos três pastorinhos - Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco e Jacinta Marto - em 1917. Neste passeio, visitaremos o lugar de Aljustrel, a chamada Aldeia de Valinhos, local onde viviam os 3 pastorinhos. Chegando ao santuário, visitaremos a Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário. O edifício, que se destaca pela sua torre de 65 metros de altura, é o local onde repousam os restos mortais dos três pastorinhos. Em seguida, visitaremos a Basílica da Santíssima Trindade, a mais recente do santuário, e a Capelinha das Aparições onde, com um pouco de sorte, você terá a oportunidade de assistir a uma missa. Após a visita regressamos ao seu hotel em Coimbra.

My main purpose of coming to Portugal was to come to Fatima. Our driver/ tour guide Xavier was excellent. He explained the history and significance of Fatima to us.

We had a wonderful trip today. We learned a lot about the country as well as Fátima. There were only 2 of us on the tour so it felt like we had a private tour.

The architecture is beautiful and the space completely preserved. Entry is free! The place is huge so I recommend you arrive early and take 3 hours to enjoy Fatima. Enjoy and visit the wax museum and the interactive museum that is located close to the sanctuary!

Needless to add details about this unique place in the world. I'll write some information that can be useful: behind the Sanctuary there is a large free car park. always behind are available bathrooms also these free. in the perimeter of the sanctuary I did not find places to buy candles, take care to buy them in the country of Fatima. In the Sanctuary you can not light but column to the left of the same where there is a large brazier. The rest is just prayer, faith and for those who are not believers observation of a unique place.

Tour guide arrived on time was extremely informative and helpful. Unfortunately the weather was not the best, it was Pouring Rain. But we still were able to accomplish our goals to the sanctuary, light our candles and buy our souvenirs. Thank You Xavier for your help and conversation. Hope to see you again.

The communication with our tour was excellent. As Catholics it was an important stop for us on our European river cruise. Highly recommend.
