Unfortunately this tour company is not one I am able to recommend sadly. Whilst our driver was lovely (he did seem inexperienced and was light on with info as a guide) but we did let him know at the start of the tour that we wanted to see St Peter's Basilica (as that was something that we had yet to see). And that we weren't interested in The Pantheon or The Trevi as we had visited those sites. With 40 minutes to go we again double checked that we were going to St Peter's to be told that we had run out of time or we could end our tour there (meaning that we would need to find our own way back to our hotel). With two children and having paid $350 Euro, finding our own way back to the hotel at night wasn't really an option for us. Unfortunately we've spent a lot of money and sadly seeing the highlights / and best sites as we expected in Rome as they advertised and as we asked of our driver wasn't delivered. I immediately messaged the company post tour to advise them of this, I received a message back immediately to tell me that they would escalate this to the founders and they would get in touch. 48 hours later I haven't received a word back. Such a shame. Look elsewhere

I was a little skeptical after I’d made the booking as I received a call only a few hours before our initial pick up time to say the company didn’t have enough drivers & they were going to have to move my booking. We were looking forward to having the tour our 1st night in Rome but thankfully true to their word the 2nd night Marco our driver made contact. Marco made our experience 10/10. Very knowledgeable & funny! I would definitely recommend a night tour around Rome, especially if Marco is your driver!

We booked for Sunday night and then got a refund and we're told it was sold out. So we booked for Monday night and thought it was great because we didn't get a refund notice. Our pickup time for 9 pm came and went and at 9:15 when we got ahold of them, they said it was sold out again. We got no notification, email, call, nothing. They were a no-call, no-show. Go elsewhere. We are still waiting on a refund.

Marco D. was very friendly and knowledgeable about Rome. We enjoyed our jam packed tour and felt very safe while he expertly navigated through Rome. This is the best way to see as much of Rome as possible.

We originally had our reservation for 10am, but were asked the afternoon before to make it earlier as they had "overbooked" that time slot. We accommodated their request and were picked up 15 mins late anyway. The tour guide was good but seemed preoccupied with communicating with someone on his phone. We got to some cool locations but due "to traffic" we couldn't get to our last requested location and were dropped off 20mins before our allotted time. So as we had prepaid we didn't have any opportunity for any type of refund or compensation apart from an apology. Great concept but maybe do some research of reviews before booking a particular company.

I am beyond disappointed and upset with Rome by Cart. I booked this golf cart tour months in advance for my large family, including my disabled parents, because I wanted them to be able to experience and see Rome comfortably. We traveled all the way from California and spent the entire day excited and waiting for our evening tour. Then, only hours before we were supposed to be picked up, Rome by Cart canceled on us. The absolute worst part is that they never called me, never emailed me, and never made any effort to personally reach out. I only found out because I happened to check the TripAdvisor app while looking for our pickup information. After traveling thousands of miles and carefully planning this trip, we were left with no options. By the time we discovered the cancellation, it was too late to find another tour. My parents came all this way to see the beauty of Rome, and because of this company’s lack of communication and poor customer service, they are leaving without that experience. What makes this even more upsetting is that I booked months in advance, trusting that my reservation was secure. Since they had plenty of notice, I cannot help but wonder if they overbooked and chose to cancel an earlier, lower-priced reservation in favor of a customer willing to pay more at the last minute. Whether that is what happened or not, that is exactly how it felt — like our family’s plans and our reservation did not matter. This is not how a reputable company should treat customers. Rome by Cart is a large company, and I cannot understand how they could not find a solution or another cart after having months of notice. A company that values its customers should not leave a family stranded hours before a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To cancel at the last minute and not even have the courtesy to contact us directly was unacceptable. We were not just inconvenienced — we lost a special memory that we can never get back.

We had a great sightseeing tour with Massimiliano. Definitely got our money’s worth in special sights and learned about Rome and its history, including a stop for ice cream. What more could you want?
