A fabulous day on the Whitsundays - stopped on whitehaven beach for a swim then snorkeling on the reef. The day was windy, over 25km winds, but felt safe if not a little damp. Recommend a day out with this team.
Thanks so much for your review and yes it has been windy. Glad you got into the spirit of things and had a great day. Providence V is a replica of the Grand Banks fishing boats and handles weather well. Thanks again.
The boat and crew were fantastic, it was a bit cold and windy on the evening we chose but aside from that it was a very pleasant sail.
Thanks for you review and yes we've been having cold and windy mornings and sunny afternoons. Thanks for taking the time to review us.
Had a lovely day on this tour, the pickup driver, skipper and the tour guide were all friendly and they did an excellent job. Highlight was the view from hill inlet lookout, a must-do for everyone visiting the whitsundays. Was a shame much of the inner reefs were damaged from the recent cyclone. Was a nice change of pace to travel on a slower vessel and take in the sights. Would highly recommend this tour for people who want to try something a bit different and sail on a quaint boat.
Thanks so much for your great review.
Well it's not nice to write a mediocre review because it's certainly not the crew. With beautiful weather left from the port of Airlie unfortunately the crossing was quite turbulent once we were on more high seas. We were warned that where we were sitting "a little spray" could come over us. Soaked down to the underpants and it didn't really matter where you were sitting except maybe on the aft deck but yes you can't sit there with all of you. Okay I don't have sea legs but actually everyone had trouble with the high waves and because you are soaked you get very cold. The food you get is fine but really too little. The time at Whitehaven is quite short because the round trip takes 2 to 3 hours and has to do with tides. Again the crew is very attentive and caring and the return trip was fine because you then go with the wind but for us the outward journey was not a nice experience.
Thanks for your review. We have had low ties and some winds which, as you say, we cannot control and can sometimes be uncomfortable especially if you don't have sea legs. As you say the crew always do as much as they can to make the voyage as good as possible. Sailing is an adventurous activity and we can't always control what conditions we will get. We do not, of course, ever sail if conditions are dangerous.
