Nós o recolheremos em seu hotel em Guatemala City e, em seguida, conduziremos pela cidade no caminho para o departamento de Sacatepequez, onde está localizada a cidade de Antigua Guatemala. Esta colina é o local perfeito para começar nosso passeio em Antigua Guatemala. Caminharemos pela floresta da colina por aproximadamente 3 minutos até chegarmos ao mirante de tirar o fôlego, uma ótima vista aérea da cidade cercada por 3 vulcões impressionantes.
Casa Santo Domingo, uma vez o mais grandioso mosteiro em Antigua Guatemala, traça suas origens para 1538 com a chegada dos dominicanos. Este santuário de duas torres e dez campanhas era um tesouro de relíquias e devoção. Embora parcialmente destruída pelo terremoto de 1773 em Santa Marta, suas ruínas continuam sendo um exemplo impressionante de arquitetura barroca. Hoje, Casa Santo Domingo abriga o único hotel de cinco estrelas de Antigua, conhecido por sua cuidadosa restauração, jardins exuberantes e museus excepcionais que exibem obras-primas artísticas, estátuas e cripta. Em Antigua Guatemala, você sentirá que volta no tempo, observa e contempla a magistralidade do Vulcão de Água que surge no fundo da cidade, e as antigas ruas de paralelepípedos e a arquitetura de mais de 500 anos. Começamos nosso passeio a pé do Parque Central da Plaza de Antigua Guatemala, que é o centro da cidade, também cercado pelos edifícios mais importantes.
É uma igreja católica romana em Antigua Guatemala. A igreja original foi construída por volta de 1541, mas sofreu vários terremotos ao longo de sua história, e o primeiro prédio da igreja foi demolido em 1669. A catedral foi reconstruída e consagrada em 1680. Em 1743 a catedral era uma das maiores da América Central. No entanto, o devastador terremoto de 1773 na Guatemala danificou seriamente grande parte do edifício, embora as duas torres na frente permanecessem praticamente intactas. Estes foram submetidos a trabalhos de restauração e a catedral foi parcialmente reconstruída. A visita às ruínas da igreja não está incluída. Observação: Nós só visitamos fora. A entrada na Catedral de Santiago é opcional.
O Palácio dos Capitães Gerais, ou Palácio Real, é um edifício colonial localizado na cidade de Antígua Guatemala. Abriga os escritórios do Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo, Associação de Turismo de Antígua, Polícia Nacional Civil e Governo Departamental, entre outros.
Os visitantes aprenderão mais sobre a história do chocolate e poderão comprar chocolates e muitos outros produtos de cacau.
De pé acima das ruas de paralelepípedos e em frente ao enorme Volcán de Agua, esse arco amarelo-açafrão se tornou o símbolo de Antígua e a imagem central na maioria dos cartões postais.
Esta bela igreja amarela é o melhor exemplo da arquitetura barroca guatemalteca. A igreja que data do século XVIII é uma das mais belas da Antigua Guatemala. Está rodeado por um belo jardim, vendas de artesanato e excelentes cafés que oferecem o autêntico café "Antigüeño" (café da Antigua Guatemala) com notas de chocolate devido ao seu processo de torrefação. Se você quiser entrar na igreja, será solicitado que você não use shorts e camisas sem mangas, e para as mulheres não são permitidas minissaias.
A história da Igreja de El Carmen remonta a 1683, quando o conselho da cidade concedeu autorização para a construção de um templo sob a invocação de Nossa Senhora de Carmen. Esta igreja sofreu grandes danos após os terremotos de 1717, 1728 e 1773. Finalmente, o edifício foi arruinado e teve que ser abandonado.

We wanted to feedback about our recent tour in Antigua Guatemala on Saturday April 27, 2024, half day - private tour. This was a time sensitive tour as we had to return to our cruise ship, SilverSea (Silver Nova) by 4pm. As seasoned travelers who value professional guided tours, this experience was uniquely disappointing and we believe specific instances from our tour will illustrate why improvements are necessary. Ignoring Client Preferences: We had specific ideas about where we wanted to eat and what we wanted to see, but our guide dismissed these requests. Despite multiple attempts to direct him to our chosen shopping destinations, he insisted on taking us to another location, which then forced us to walk to our desired shopping destination. Obtrusive Behavior: At each site, he positioned himself in front of us, blocking views while pointing out mundane objects without providing any historical context or educational value. His commentary was often repetitive, pointing out the obvious, such as "look, this building is very old, very old", which did not enhance our understanding of the locations visited. Lack of Privacy: The guide's presence was overbearing. For instance, in the restaurant at the Porta Hotel, he chose to sit continuously within our view, observing us as we ate, which was highly uncomfortable. His subsequent behavior was equally unprofessional; he took tourist-like photos in the lobby, which delayed us further as he lost track of where he had parked the car. Disregard for Time Management: After the meal, when it was clear we were pressed for time, the guide was unable to locate the car promptly, insisting it was "just around the corner." This led us to decide to walk to our next destination out of necessity, not preference—a choice he seemed to misunderstand as a casual decision rather than a frustration-driven necessity. These specific examples reflect a broader issue of professionalism and sensitivity to our needs, which were not met during our tour. The guide’s knowledge was inadequate, in addition his delivery and conduct were neither professional nor considerate. Furthermore, we would like to reiterate our appreciation for the driver, who was both polite and efficient, contrasting sharply with our experience of the guide. We have attached a photo of the guide for your reference, as we do not recall his name. We trust that you will address these issues promptly to prevent future clients from having similar experiences. We take time management very seriously, especially in situations where our clients have clear time constraints, as was your case due to the return to your cruise ship. The driver and the guide were very nice and very knowledgeable The city itself was very quaint and the volcanoes were great to see. The drive there is quite bumpy and lots of traffic both ways.

Antigua was amazing. The combination of colonial architecture, blossomed jacarandas and volcanic scenery was spectacular. Eduardo, my guide, provided detailed information of the city history and showed me the best spots. Highly recommend it.

This tour was so much fun that I extended it to a full day tour. I met some marvelous folks from around the globe. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. I learned a lot of history about Antigua. It's a beautiful town to wonder around. The group also enjoyed a lunch while in town and the food was amazing. Don't hesitate, just book this tour!

Excellent tour. Ruben is an excellent guide and very entertaining. He was amazingly informative and educated us about Antigua, Guatemala in general, the Mayan history as well as current maya customs and dress. Ask for Ruben and you will have an excellent tour of Antigua and Guatemala.
