Experiência de escalada - Positano

My husband and I had a perfect experience climbing today. Our guide brought all the gear necessary and belayed us across several routes that offered gorgeous views of the coast and were perfect for our skill level. A true highlight of our vacation!

100% recommend this experience. My girlfriend and I wanted someone to show us the local crags and Francesco, our guide, is one of the people heaviliy involved in developing them and has been climbing in the area for many years. He not only took us to a hidden gem but gave us info on all the other crags and recommended something for our second day there that turned out to be perfect. Topping out on the limestone and then turning to see Positano framed by the sea was one of my favorite climbing experiences. Francesco has the knowledge to make a memorable trip for any skill level and is very personable. His passion for climbing and the area is evident. He also got us some killer drone footage of each of us climbing. If you are thinking about it I would say you should definitely pull the trigger.

Had an amazing time climbing with my guide Francesco. I’m a beginner so he was great about going over safety and picking routes that were challenging for me. He even brought a drone and got some great footage of me climbing. Highly recommend this experience! Bring bug spray the mosquitos were everywhere though!

This was an amazing experience for our sixteen year old son. He has been mostly indoor climbing for a few years and this has been his favorite climbing experience yet! Francesco, our guide, was so professional and knowledgeable. You have to book a minimum of two people for a trip so we paid for my husband also (he didn’t end up climbing due to a foot issue) but Francesco was open to both of us accompanying Matteo. There was a hike in to the climbing area that was about 30 minutes and it provided a great view of Positano below. Ivana, the tour operator, was responsive and easy to keep in touch with (using WhatsApp). Francesco was running a bit late due to a delay with his previous group but Ivana kept us up to date with his arrival time. Francesco made up the time at the end and also arranged to drive us back to our hotel which was much appreciated. Overall, an unforgettable experience for all of us!

This was an amazing excursion, Francesco the guide was an absolute legend the work he has put into establishing and bolting routes in the area is amazing (wish we had someone willing to put in this amount of work in my area/hopefully I can eventually gain the experience necessary to help develop my area). People like Francesco are the unsung heroes of the climbing community and deserve the utmost respect for enabling others with less experience to get into this amazing pass-time wish I could give more then 5 stars. The climbing experience in Positano was over the top amazing- this was the most beautiful outdoor climb my husband and I have ever done! From the beginning, our contact person at Toonado, Ivana, was responsive and helpful. She remained in touch with us to make sure we were aware of where and when to meet. Due to twin, our trip location was changed from Sorrento coast to Positano. I can’t imagine that any climb would have been more beautiful. Our guide, Francesco, arrived with our shoes, harnesses and helmets- everything fit perfectly ( not sure how they got it right on one try, but they did!) Francesco led us on a trail up the mountain to our climbing site, where there were many bolted sport climbs. We warmed up with a couple of fun easier climbs, practiced smearing with a bit more challenging route, then challenged our physical and mental strength with a more difficult, gorgeous climb from a higher vista up stalactites. Francesco was a great guide and leader! We highly recommend this outing- it was one of the highlights of our Italian vacation!

The folks at Toonado hooked up a last second climbing session above Positano. The position above the sea is amazing, and the climbing on tufas is unforgettable. Francesco, the guide, offered a sample of routes of varying styles, many which he personally bolted. He is intimately familiar with the area, and talked about the history and culture of the area and people. Great person to climb with and get to know! I hope one day to return!

Our guide did an amazing job setting up climbs for people with different experience levels. He set up climbs that were appropriately challenging for everyone along with a nice warm up. The views from the top were incredible and the stalactite climbing was extremely fun!

We had a great experience. I was interested in climbing while staying in Positano, my wife was not as interested but wanted to join and get photos. They let her tag along with no extra costs. They worked with our busy vacation schedule to find us a time that worked. Our guide Francesco (I hope I got the spelling right) was an awesome local guide and spoke great English. I could tell immediately that he was a skilled climber and belay, I felt totally safe on all the routes. Not only was he knowledgeable with climbing, but had knowledge of local ecology, history, and culture. The climbing was spectacular, I’ve never had such a great view at the top as I did in Positano. For the price, you could not find a guided experience as great as this in the US. They have all the gear, local knowledge, and skill to guide a climber at any experience level. 10/10
