We had a great experience with Eco-Adventures! My initial communications were with Michelle and Patrick who facilitated our reservation process, answered questions honestly about Ebola and ensured our trip wouid start off a success. A few days before our scheduled trip it was confirmed Abdul would be our guide. From this point on meeting Abdul was akin to making a new friend. My sons and I spent over 8 hours in the car riding from Kigali and back as part of our 3 day gorilla trekking experience. Abdul was an excellent host, we had great conversations and laughs whether in the car or at our meals together. He didn’t hesitate to make sure our needs were being met and that we were happy, it truly was a joy spending time with him We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Eco-Adventures. You’ll come away with not only unforgettable memories from your gorilla trek but also a new friend in Abdul!
We had an incredible time with Eco Adventure Safaris trekking the gorillas. We have done safaris in 4 different countries at this point, and I would take this trekking experience over those experiences every time. It was incredible. Our guide, Charles, was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our many, many questions about Uganda and the gorillas. He knew all the best places to eat lunch and stop for coffee on the way to Bwindi, too. Our accommodation (we did the medium level) was also perfect with top level service. Eco Adventure Safaris were incredibly helpful in guiding us on the gear we might need, what to expect, and how to go about getting a visa for Uganda. I would recommend this tour and this company to those that want to give gorilla trekking a try.
We had the best time on this tour. Our guide Viany was amazing and answered all of our questions and made us feel so safe and taken care of. He picked us up at 2am from the airport and drove us to our accommodation at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, which was such a beautiful, special place to stay. Our day of gorilla trekking was incredible. I highly recommend this tour.
I had such a great experience with this tour company! From the moment the tour started, everything was well organized, smooth, and enjoyable. The team was professional, friendly, and very attentive to everyone’s needs. The guide was knowledgeable and made the experience both informative and fun. I really appreciated how everything ran on time and how comfortable the entire trip felt. It was clear that they truly care about providing a quality experience for their clients. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable tour. I would happily book with them again!
An amazing experience, trip of a lifetime. The team at Eco Adventure Safaris were great, nothing was a problem. Our driver/guide Edgar was friendly and engaging. Rushaga Lodge is a great place to stay. Extremely comfortable. And of course to see the mountain gorillas was something very special.
This was a once in a lifetime experience for my husband and I!! Our time spent with the Mountain Gorillas is a memory we will always treasure...well worth the arduous trek through the jungle mountains!! Our guide Renatus took such good care of us throughout the whole adventure and really made our drive from Kigali to Rashuga fly by quickly by sharing his knowledge of the countries we drove through. Not only was he patient and kind he was a safe driver as well. We are so thankful for our time with him. We were able to hear the music from the Pygmy village from our lodge in the evening which was really cool. We stayed at Rashuga Gorilla Lodge and enjoyed the friendly service and cultural performances they offered each evening. The setting on the hillside was beautiful, especially the view from our deck overlooking lush flowers and the jungle covered mountains across from us. We highly recommend this tour!! Please don't forget to have smaller bills for tipping hotel staff, guides, rangers, or whoever may offer their services on your trip, they will really appreciate it!
The whole experience was perfect! Very professional team, a big shoutout to Charles, the best driver! Always in a good mood, very professional and drove us safely. The hotels picked by the tour agency were also very nice
I had booked a solo 3-day/2-night tour with Eco Adventure Safaris for 14-16 Jan 2026. The price was quite ok. Pickup was from Kigali city. A four-wheel Toyota Landcruiser was made available for me. The guide (Roland) was very fluent in English and a quite safe driver. After a drive of almost 4-5 hours with some sightings of hadada and sacred ibis, crested cranes, herons, hamerkopp, etc. and with a stop at the Gatuna border and a quite tasty supper at Numba Cafe (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Aw6x6B5wtD1Wx85c6), the stay was planned in a fantastic Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge (https://maps.app.goo.gl/c8SdS7Y6LsD3Vk977). A welcome drink and wet towel were waiting at the entrance. My bungalow had a great view of the valley before the Bwindi National Park from the verandah. The lodge has a very good kitchen and offered various choices of continental food for breakfast, lunch packet and dinner. Also Beer in the evening was good for relaxation. The staff was quite attentive and helpful. Due to the general elections in Uganda, the internet was cut off, but was also not needed. On the second day I was driven to the national park gate at around 8am. First there was an entertainment dance program from the local community people. Then we were given information about the park and dos and donts, etc. Around nine people were grouped in my group. One security guard with a gun for our safety also joined as there are wild elephants and also non-habituated gorilla groups in this park. Also four porters were joining and they were carrying our backpacks which made the walking much more lighter. The tracking safari did not involve very steep hiking and mostly it was flat. The path had some slippery wet mud patches, but it was quite manageable. The guide was quite experienced and she ensured that everyone gets well hydrated with regular breaks in our trek which was not too short or too long and as some of the us were getting tired or slipping quite often. On the way, a black-fronted duiker was seen hiding in the bushes. We also saw some fresh elephant pugmarks in mud and also some fresh gorilla poops with a swarm of flies trying to lay eggs. We were then taken very very close to a wild but habituated gorilla family. The poor gorillas are surrounded by such fly swarm, they are not harmful or do not bother humans but still it gives an uneasy feeling. For the safety of the both species, everyone of us were wearing a mask. The trackers were clearing bushes for us to get a good view at them. The gorilla babies and teens were thumping their chests and wrestling/playing around with each other. The Silverback and the mother were showing some concern about their young ones but they did not look dangerous at all. We were given almost an hour or more for observation and we could take dozens of photos and videos and then there was sign to return. We came back around at 1pm. I was told that we were only the second one to return and last group possibly returned at 4pm. But if one is unlucky, one could come back after the sunset without any sighting. I was more than satisfied and also tired with this tour and I did not opt for any further local community experience. On the third day, I was brought back to Kigali and on the way to my guesthouse Rwanda Genocide museum was also visited which has free entrance but airport level security, so one should not take too mach luggage with while visiting it. To conclude, it was a dream come true for me and I would recommend Eco Adventure Safaris to all my friends in future.
Ecoadventure is a terrific company. Highly recomended. Patrick was very accommodating to my last-minute request, arranging for an amazing gorilla trekking adventure with great efficiency and professionalism. He fulfills dreams ☺️
Our experience exceeded our expectations!! Apolo is the most thoughtful and friendly guide anyone could ever ask for, he made everything feel personal and special! We had a fantastic time with the gorillas and cannot wait to return to Uganda
