Friends giving you a tour!

Abdiel and Joaquin were very friendly, very helpful, very good information and especially very patient. They did their job perfectly, which rather looked like friends took us on tour of the places we visited. We plan to return and if possible ask for help again for a walk in Cancun, Riviera Maya or Tulum.

Great adventure

We had an excellent full day with Enrique from Coba Sunset for our family of 6. Not only was he a knowledgeable guide, but also really flexible and understanding when it comes to a family and young children. Enrique really went above and beyond and was kind enough to shoot photos and video of our family which he was happy send to us as well. Thanks for the excellent adventure.

Turtle sanctuary and Cenotes tour

We were on a private tour to see the turtles in Akumal and then on to the Cenotes. We also stopped for a short time in Playa del Carmen. Our tour guide was Luis. He was so amazing and so patient when we were snorkelling and exploring the Cenotes and made everyone feel comfortable and safe. (Josef , a guide from the turtle sanctuary was also patient and helpful. ) It was quite clear that Luis was very knowledgeable about the history of his region and he was eager to share this with others. We would highly recommend this tour and especially our guide, Luis! He really made the tour special!

This was not the tour that I asked for, somewhat upsat and disappointed.

The tour was not what I was sold. I bought the Coba sunset tour witht the Mayan popular vu show and lobster dinner. There was no show and no dinner, and the tour was over an hour before sunset and we had very little actual time at coba versus what I paid for which was very disappointing for my family who had never seen the pyramids before. The tour was good but it was not what I wanted and I would like some refund

Good tour of coba and Mayan people / culture

This was approx. 8-hour tour (picked up in a small min-bus from Riviera Maya area) and we visited a Mayan place where you could buy items, met a Mayan man who did a small show. Moved onto make some pottery items in a Mayan village area. Before travelling to the Coba archaeological site with our guides to explore the ancient archaeological site on a bicycle (or you could be ridden for $9.5 on a 3 wheel bike). We then went to another Mayan village and made tortillas after seeing two ladies making them first along with a tour around and seeing the bees. Back to a restaurant at the entrance to COBA for a dinner and a good Mayan show. Back around 7-8pm. Very good day (slightly different if you choose the zip lining obviously).

Coba ruins must see, but there are some drawback

Our guide Greg is did a good job. However, this tour had 2 major disappointment. First, if you are taking this tour from Cancun, the you should know that it will take 3 to 4 hours to get to Coba. You are not told this when you sign up. We had to drive to pick people from Playa Del Carmen then from Tulum. Second, climbing to Coba is not allowed due to pandemic for the last 2 years. It is not advertised in the tour that you will be able to climb, but photos of tour with people climbing on the top are deceiving. Overall, cultural part was average as well, so in my opinion. It is definitely not worthy the price for the tour.

Fantastic experience

An excellent experience! We were not originally supposed to do this tour but our operator mucked up the original and we did this one instead. I have to say I am pleased as this was a fantastic experience. We were taken to a Mayan shop first where we were able to purchase Mayan birth certificates and necklaces. After that we took a short drive to Coba itself. Our guide stopped at all the relevant places and was full of knowledge of the history. We were given a chance to climb the pyramid before we went on the zip line across the lake. The van picked us up and dropped us to the cenote which was amazing! The cave is just fantastic although it was more steps after the pyramid! Finally we finished with being taken to a restaurant for a lovely meal, our tour guide had informed them we were vegetarian and they made a delicious dish especially for us! The show was fantastic and backed up everything the tour guide had explained to us. When it was over we were driven back to our hotel. The driving was safe and efficient and we felt safe. Overall I would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Coba.

Fantastic opportunity to learn about the MAYA... past and present!!!!

This tour was a great way to visit Coba. We took the cultural tour, and the only thing different from the Xtreme tour was that they took the athletic stuff and we tour longer at the ruins. We visited a Mayan family's home, learned about their honey bees (which do not have stingers...NICE!!!) and then we had an awesome dinner. AAAA++++++ experience!

We loved seeing Coba and being able...

We loved seeing Coba and being able to climb the temple. We also enjoyed the biking part. Be aware that if you can't ride a bicycle then you can pay a little extra and ride on a trike that is pedaled for you and can seat two people at the front. My daughter and I did this because she forgot how to ride a bicycle. That ended up being our favorite part of the day. We had a blast. The man who pedaled the trike told us about the ruins and the breeze felt great. We loved that our tour guide was a Mayan who lived near the ruins. He was very knowledgeable and spoke Mayan, Spanish, and English very well. The transport was in a nice air-conditioned van/bus and the tour guide told us about the Coba ruins and the Mayan culture. This made the trip enjoyable. We chose the cultural experience, and I am on the fence about whether that was the best option. We knew we did not want to zipline, but the cenote sounded wonderful. The Mayan village was interesting, but the pottery making was not fun. We were given only a pingpong sized amount of clay, and were very hurried. Another group came in as we were finishing. Our guide did point out plants used for medicinal purposes, which was interesting. The head of the family whose home we visited showed us his Mayan bee hives which were also very interesting. A lady prepared hand made tortillas with pumpkin seed spread and they tasted great. All in all the cultural excursion portion of the tour was just ok. The dinner and show were great, very interesting and entertaining. We had ordered the lobster upgrade which was delicious but there was a delay in getting the lobster and we weren't told that it would be a big plate of food. If we had known that then we would not have gotten food from the buffet. We ended up looking like gluttons with two plates of food each. Be sure to take plenty of cash and some small bills because there are many opportunities to tip trike driver, cultural tour guide, family whose home was open to us, performers at the dinner show, driver, and main tour guide. There are also excellent shopping opportunities in the Mayan home and in the Mayan shops next to the dinner venue. Also, I'm not sure why this is called a sunset tour because you don't see the sunset at the ruins. The sun sat while we were at the dinner venue. All in all I am glad that we went. It was a really good excursion. I might have rated it a 5 had we chosen the extreme experience.
