Belém é um dos ex-libris da capital portuguesa, o local de onde os marinheiros do século XVI iniciaram as suas viagens ao novo mundo. Este passeio começa com um passeio de eléctrico e inclui visitas guiadas ao Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Museu das Carruagens e Monumento das Descobertas (exterior).

O Museu Nacional dos Coches reúne uma coleção única de coches no mundo. Dos séculos 16 a 19, algumas das carruagens mais antigas do mundo são encontradas aqui.
Classificado pela Unesco como Patrimônio Mundial. O Mosteiro dos Jerónimos é uma das conquistas da arquitectura portuguesa e europeia da sua época, afirmando ao mesmo tempo, a singularidade da sua própria expressão artística, a arquitectura manuelina, e a sua inscrição no quintal gótico internacional. Este grande edifício religioso foi historicamente associado aos primeiros marinheiros como exploradores, porque foi a partir daqui que os navegadores portugueses iniciaram a sua viagem para o novo mundo.
Com 52 metros de altura, o Monumento aos Descobrimentos é uma homenagem a todos os portugueses que participaram na grande viagem marítima dos séculos XV e XVI.
A pastelaria de Belém é onde pode degustar os pastéis mais famosos do país. Inaugurado em 1837, recria todos os dias a pastelaria de Belém, seguindo uma receita milenar do Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Uma das grandes maravilhas da culinária de Portugal, o pastel polvilhado de canela de nata (pastel de nata), com a sua crosta escamosa e o centro cremoso.

Half a day in the area of Bethlehem with a lot to appreciate and learn from the Alcides. Visit to the new museum of the Coches, priority entry to the pastels of Bethlehem and visit to the monastery of Jerónimos.
This is our First time to Portugal and Alcides was an Amazing tour guide. His knowledge of gothic and classical architecture, the names of the architects and the general knowledge of the city's history made the Belem experience one of the highlights of our Vacation. We also got VIP treatment at Pastéis de Belem and got to skip ahead in the line for pastries and coffee! The Coach Museum was also a unique experience and definitely worth the visit. I also rather enjoyed the trip back to the hotel through the narrow streets of Chiado. His maneuvering of the person passenger van was rather skillful and impressive! We are coming back through Lisbon at the end of our Vacation and may call Alcides to schedule a trip to Fatima and Nazaré. All in all a 5 star rating
Alcido our tour guide is fantastic. we board a tram so we truly experienced Lisbon! the cathedral is beautiful beyond words and he expertly described the details and history. The Belem pastry at Belem pasteria is excellent and part of our tour! Yummy. do not miss this! the Coach Museum with antigue carriage coaches is impressive - any car enthusiast and non-car enthusiast would love this museum.
The tour was wonderful, Portugal is beautiful, my guide Mr. Alcides flower was impeccable, very experienced and kind made our stay unforgettable. The highlight was the Pastel of Bethlehem in Bethlehem, there is no better in the world...
