O tanque foi construído em 1127 dC, por Lakshman Prabhu, um ministro da corte dos reis da dinastia Silhara de Thane. O tanque é alimentado por uma nascente e por isso sua água permanece doce, apesar de estar localizada a apenas algumas dezenas de metros do mar. Excellent service by Mukesh & Aarti. Mukesh drove very well, careful and responsive. Aarti as tour guide is jovial and spoke well too. Good to have both of them brought me around Mumbai, especially as first time visitor to the city.

We had a really good tour of Mumbai with Dev, our guide. Dev was punctual, professional, informative and very friendly. He is great company, generously sharing with us his experiences of living in Mumbai, a city of which he us rightly proud. We had a half-day tour (four hours) with him, aided by an excellent, attentive and safe driver. Dev tailored the tour content and pace to meet our needs. The time flew by and the whole experience was very good. Highly recommended.
