Hoi An, outrora um importante entreposto comercial do Sudeste Asiático nos séculos XVI e XVII, é basicamente um museu vivo que abriga a arquitetura da cidade antiga. Alguns notáveis edifícios históricos incluem templos chineses, uma ponte projetada pelos japoneses, pagodes, casas de madeira, Casas coloniais francesas e antigos canais. Embora o comércio em grande escala tenha se mudado por muito tempo para outro lugar, Hoi An conseguiu preservar e restaurar suas raízes encantadoras e foi declarado Patrimônio da Humanidade pela UNESCO em dezembro de 1999. A atração turística deste lugar é a paisagem natural tranquila das florestas de coco verdes exuberantes. Com água limpa e cruzeiros de rio com barcos de cestas rústicas. Segundo a população local, a floresta de coco de Cam Thanh existia há cerca de 200 anos. Naquela época, os migrantes da região sudoeste trouxeram coco de água com eles e os plantaram nessa área. Especialmente com o apoio da água e do solo, as árvores gradualmente crescem e se desenvolvem em uma grande floresta de cerca de 7 acres (7 hectares). Assim, o nome da floresta de coco Cam Thanh também vem de lá (embora atualmente a floresta de coco tenha uma área de até 100 hectares). Durante a guerra, a floresta de coco foi uma importante base revolucionária que ajudou o exército e o povo vietnamitas a ganhar muitas batalhas heroicas. Hoje, aproveite a beleza natural da vasta floresta de coco.

Our tour guide Thanh was very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Hoi An. He was very personable and patient with us two older ladies who walk a little slower. His English was very good and we had many nice conversations with him. The tour was great as we visited sites we would not have noticed on our own. We recommend Thanh and this tour.

Henry is a knowledgeable tour guide and speaks English very well. His tour of Hoi An took us to places we otherwise would not have seen. It is an excellent overview to a beautiful and historic city. I'm not sure if it is his personality or his dry sense of humor, but he comes off as a little less engaging than other tour guides we've had in Vietnam. He certainly knows his stuff, but answers to questions seem very business-like as in "just the facts, ma'am," and less as chatty tour guide.

Guess our guide didn’t feel like it at all, walked around a bit bored and told us about the sights in Hoi An. We had the feeling that we had ruined his Saturday off pretty bad. He was certainly not unkind and really told me something but that was it. The best thing we learned was his tip for restaurant Cargo!

The tour by Henry was fascinating. He gave us a tour of Hoi An ranging from temples and the Japanese Bridge, to the food market and the best coconut coffee in town. His historical knowledge of Vietnam, and most places in general, is amazing. We took breaks when we needed, had a few local snacks and had a great time. He was friendly, informative and I highly recommend you take a tour with him!

Henry took us on an walk around the old Hoi An city. As a local he shared many stories about his family and life growing up in the city. It was hot and Henry was happy for us to set the pace, take a rest and stop to take photos. Would recommend this walking tour to anyone who is interested in the history of Hoi An from a locals perspective.

I’m a tour guide and come to Hoian with groups. I booked Henry twice- for a bicycle tour and also for the Hoi An city tour. This is a very nice, professional and excellent English speaking guide. He is also very kind and helpful, even after the tour you can contact him and ask some questions.
