Visited San Sebastián for the 2nd time but this time with family. Tried a new tour company - Ikusnahi Tours - and was not disappointed! Our guide, Olatz was a total gem!!! She was so extremely considerate of my mother, who uses a walker to for stability when walking, and despite that she took us all over the city. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Olatz made it very personable and fun…we truly felt as though we were seeing the city with a family member. We took the sightseeing tour that included the pintxos crawl of 3 bars. This was just perfect for us since we had just landed and I wanted to ease my family into the food scene shortly after landing. Olatz so elegantly described the history of the pintxos bars, the specialty pintxo/s we had at each bar, and the drinks we tried. Explaining the history of txakoli and sidra was a fun highlight. We especially enjoyed Olatz’s skill in pouring Txakoli on an exceptionally windy evening! Everything was perfect and delicious!! During the sightseeing portion, she never rushed us through and explained everything so eloquently…you could truly feel the passion and love she has for her city, despite her being originally from Bilbao! A shout out to Ikusnahi Tours…the company is top notch and Lucia is a gem! She PATIENTLY answered every and all questions I had when building my tours (and I had many!!). eskerrik asko, Lucia!!
This was such a lovely review to read :) Olatz has a very natural way of making people feel comfortable and connected to the city, so we’re really happy your whole family could enjoy San Sebastián at an easy pace and still experience so much of its culture, food and atmosphere. And yes… pouring txakoli on a windy Donosti evening should probably count as a local sport! Also, eskerrik asko for the kind words about Lucía. She truly cares about helping guests create the right experience for their trip, and she’ll be smiling reading this. We hope San Sebastián stole your family’s heart just a little bit more this second time around.
What a beautiful City. The tour was the best of the best my guide treated us like family, my grandkids were very comfortable asking questions and learning the history of the city and eating the best food (Pintxos). Excellent !
Thanks so much, Alba! We love that you enjoyed the tour and we're really happy the kids felt comfortable to dive into the history and, of course, the pintxos. It was a pleasure having you all with us. We’d love to see you back in the city again someday!
Martin was our guide for a private tour of San Sebastian and the whole experience was delightful!! Martin is very knowledgeable and exudes good vibes and a clear passion for his city. At every stop he shared stories about the city and the Basque people. It was truly a treat to be with him and we all fell in love with San Sebastián.
This made us smile :) San Sebastián has a way of stealing people’s hearts, especially when discovering it through its stories, food, little corners and local traditions. Martin truly loves this city and the Basque culture, so he’ll be very happy to know that passion came through during your day together. Thanks for exploring Donosti with us and for such lovely words about the experience!
My family and I took the sightseeing and pintxos tour with Ernes, and loved it so much! You get a very nice overview of the city’s structure and history, and end the tour with a fantastic selection of bars. Ernes was so nice and sincere. We learned a lot about the basque region in such a short amount of time. The reservation process was also very smooth. The company is very well run. We cannot recommend enough!
We’re really happy you and your family enjoyed discovering San Sebastián with Ernes :) Combining the history, local culture and the rhythm of the city with a good pintxos route is one of our favorite ways to introduce people to Donosti. Ernes will be very happy to hear you appreciated both the stories and the relaxed atmosphere along the way. And thank you as well for the kind words about the organization behind the scenes. Eskerrik asko for trusting us with your time in the Basque Country!
We did a city e-bike and pinxtos tour with Markel and he was amazing! So much fun and he was a fantastic guide … knowledgeable, fun and just easy going!! Highly recommended!!!
Joseph, sounds like you experienced San Sebastián the fun way :) Cruising around the city by e bike and finishing with pintxos is such a great combination, and we’re very happy you enjoyed the day with Markel. He’ll love hearing that his relaxed style, local knowledge and good energy made the experience so memorable. Eskerrik asko for riding and eating your way through Donosti with us!
Ernes was an amazing tour guide. It is invaluable to have a tour conducted by a local resident steeped in the Basque tradition and culture. The trip started with taking us to a spot where we could get spectacular views of the city (great photos). He then navigated us through the city to a variety of pintxos cafes catering to our likes and yet introducing us to new foods we would never tried on our own. The tour in a word - FABULOUS!
We love hearing this :) Starting with those panoramic views over San Sebastián and then slowly diving into the city through pintxos, stories and local traditions is such a beautiful way to experience the Basque Country. Ernes will be very happy to know you enjoyed both the familiar flavors and the new discoveries along the way. And honestly, “FABULOUS” is a pretty good summary of a proper pintxos evening in Donosti ;)
Had a fantastic sightseeing trip of San Sebastian, our wonderful guide Martin gave us plenty of information and history of the town and the Basque region. We covered most of the town on ebikes which made it effortless and super fun. We finished the tour with a trip to the Pintxos bars and some excellent food and beverage chosen by our guide. Would certainly recommend this tour and our lovely guide Martin.
Sounds like a perfect San Sebastián day :) Exploring the city by ebike, learning about the Basque region and then finishing with good pintxos and drinks is such a fun way to experience Donosti. Martin will be very happy to hear you enjoyed both the ride and the food side of the adventure. Thanks for spending the day with us and for the lovely recommendation!
We had an excellent tour with Martin. As a San Sebastien resident, he was very knowledgable about the area. He provided us with a historic overview of the Basque region and was able to fill in with interesting stories of his friends and family. We did part of the tour by van, then walked through gardens and along the beach front. The pintxos he selected were delicious and he helpfully provided restaurant recommendations for us to use later in our visit.
Stella, we’re so happy you enjoyed discovering San Sebastián with Martin :) We love when tours feel personal and connected to real local life, with stories, family connections, history and of course good food along the way. Combining the city views, gardens, beachfront and pintxos is such a lovely way to get a feel for Donosti at the beginning of a trip. Hope the rest of your time in the Basque Country was full of great meals and new favorite spots!
Martin did a fantastic job. He has wonderful historical knowledge combined with current anecdotes. The whole experience could not have been better!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re very happy you enjoyed the day and Martin’s stories. It’s great to know you leave with such a good memory of our land. We hope to welcome you again soon.
Our Tour Guide, Jan, was excellent in his ability to provide historic information about San Sebastián, while bringing us to several Pintxo bars and indulging us with awesome food and drink! I highly recommend Jan as your Tour Guide, for which ever tour you decide to take!
