Te Mercado del puerto yummy!! Este é um grande mercado do século XIX cheio de agitados restobars especializados em carnes. Este lugar é opcional se os viajantes estiverem interessados em uma clássica Parrillada uruguaia (churrasco).
Caminhada (opcional) Praça Zabala, nomeada em homenagem ao fundador de Montevideo, apresenta jardins projetados pelo arquiteto francês Édouard André. Os jardins são cercados por cercas de ferro e portões. A Praça é cercada por Ring Durango Street, nomeado pelo distrito da cidade onde Zabala nasceu. No lado sul da praça está o Palácio Taranco, lar do Museu de Artes Decorativas.
Podemos explorar esta parte a pé. A Plaza de la Constitución, também conhecida como Plaza Matriz (Catedral), está localizada em Montevideo, no coração do histórico bairro da Cidade Velha. Originalmente, serviu como a Plaza Mayor da Cidade da Fortaleza de San Felipe e Santiago de Montevideo, e foi o único espaço público aberto projetado especificamente para esse fim.
A Praça da Independência é a praça mais importante de Montevideo, no Uruguai. Localizado no centro da cidade, ocupa o espaço uma vez mantido pela Cidadela de Montevideo. Em seu centro está o monumento e mausoléu do General José Gervasio Artigas. Ao redor da praça estão vários edifícios históricos, incluindo o icônico Palacio Salvo, um exemplo impressionante de arquitetura eclética e um dos edifícios mais altos da América do Sul quando foi concluído em 1928. A arquitetura e os marcos da praça capturam o rico património cultural de Montevideo.
A Rambla de Montevidéu é uma longa avenida de vinte e quatro quilômetros de extensão que margeia a costa do Río de la Plata, em Montevidéu, capital do Uruguai.
O Palácio Legislativo é a sede do Poder Legislativo do Uruguai. Lá funciona a Assembleia Geral, que é composta por duas câmaras que se reúnem separadamente ou em conjunto, dependendo das circunstâncias: a Câmara dos Representantes e a Câmara dos Senadores. Uma presença impressionante na cidade. Você não pode perder o ingresso para entrar no Palácio Legislativo custa $3.
Depois de passar pelo Parque Batlle, visitaremos o Estádio Centenário, que é imperdível em Montevidéu. O Uruguai foi o primeiro campeão mundial e o Estádio Centenário foi o anfitrião das filas. Os viajantes também podem solicitar qualquer outro bairro.
Prado é um bairro residencial tranquilo e exclusivo conhecido pelo extenso parque de mesmo nome, onde os visitantes passeiam entre plantas nativas e exóticas do jardim botânico e rosas plantadas em torno dos arcos de pedra de El Rosedal. Há mais jardins no museu Blanes, um chalé do século XIX que hoje é um museu de arte uruguaia. Las Carmelitas é uma igreja muito fotografada, construída na década de 1920, além do jardim japonês.

A Fortaleza General Artigas ou Fortaleza do Cerro de Montevidéu é uma antiga fortificação do Uruguai construída por ordem do governador Francisco Javier de Elío em 1808. É considerada um dos principais símbolos do país e da capital.

Favio is an incredible person to show you the history, the architecture, the art and the different neighborhood and culture of Montevideo as a city and Uruguay as a country. He is extremely knowledge, flexible to adapt the tour to your interest and willing to give you plenty of advice on restaurants and additional places that you may want to visit on your own. Had an incredible tour with Favio, who brought Montevideo to life in the most engaging way. He guided us through the city’s beautiful neighborhoods and along the scenic waterfront promenade, sharing fascinating history and pointing out all the key landmarks—including the local markets, congress, and the mausoleum of national hero José Artigas. He also introduced us to the traditional herbal drink, mate, and explained its cultural significance. Favio is incredibly knowledgeable, speaks excellent English, and made the entire experience both enjoyable and enriching. This was a brilliant guided tour with Paola and driver Alviro. Message on the morning about where to meet, several stops where we got out and walked around with useful information about the area. She coped well with my husband’s wish for shopping and could help with questions to the stall holders. We got to see annual ceremony changing guard. Views from top of City Hall were incredible. Got to see so many ch of old and new part. Ate at indoor market and tried local food which we would not have done by ourselves Highly recommend this tour

We had a perfect day in Montevideo with a local. This tour is a highlight of our trip and honestly one of the best we have ever had! Fabio is very knowledgeable about history and sights but more impressive is his ability to share the warmth of the people. He even went up to perfect strangers sitting on a bench who were drinking mate and asked them to share what the beverage means to them. We will be back soon!

Sergio and Ramon showed us their Montevideo! From the view of the city from the top (city hall) to the many ‘neighborhoods’ that make up the city. We were thoroughly entertained, experienced a fabulous lunch at Tannat and enjoyed our stroll back to the port. Thanks guys!

Private tour guide gave a customized trip around the city showcasing all the history and particular insights from having actually lived there his whole life. He detoured around crowded tourist spaces and focused on the real, lived experience of not only the cultural history but his own place of interest and our special requests to visit and spend more or less time in each place as meeting with our personal interests.
