Este incrível passeio lhe dará a oportunidade de descobrir a história de Laconia, combinando a história do grego antigo e (o menos conhecido) do grego medieval. Visite Esparta, onde Leonidas reinou e viaje de volta à época bizantina, andando por torres, palácios e igrejas em Mistra.

Itinerário
Começaremos com um passeio ao longo da costa. No caminho, você verá algumas aldeias gregas à beira-mar e a ilha de Salamina (onde ocorreu a histórica batalha naval entre os atenienses e os persas). Nossa primeira parada no Canal de Corinto. Inaugurado em 1892, separando a península do Peloponeso do resto da Grécia e conectando o Golfo Sarônico ao Mar de Corinto. Você terá tempo para atravessar uma ponte de pedestres para admirar o canal mais perto (se você quiser) em alguns dias o bungee jumping é uma opção.
Após a parada no canal, seguiremos em direção a Mystras, que chegará à península do sul do Peloponeso, através da paisagem montanhosa do campo grego. Ao chegar a Mystras, você entenderá automaticamente por que esse local é tão único nos sites gregos. Conhecida como a cidade fantasma, fortificada em uma cidadela, Mystras é um dos dois locais na Grécia que preserva não apenas igrejas medievais, mas também casas, mansões e palácios comuns do Império Bizantino, em combinação com elementos francos.
Ao caminhar no local no ponto superior, você alcançará a cidadela e desfrutará de uma vista magnífica das áreas circundantes. Ao descer a colina, encontrará os palácios e os pátios reais. Embora conhecida como a cidade fantasma, a maioria dos mosteiros ainda está em uso e os monges terão prazer em mostrar a você a pequena sociedade deles. Antes de sair, você encontrará a capela de St. Demetrios, no seu chão sobrevive uma placa representando uma águia de duas cabeças (o símbolo de Bizâncio). Foi nessa mesma placa que Konstantine Palaiologos se ajoelhou antes de ser coroado o último imperador do Bizâncio.
Em seguida, passaremos o resto de nosso tempo em Esparta, conhecida como a eterna cidade rival da Democracia Ateniense. Esparta girou em torno de uma teoria Cosmo diferente para os padrões gregos antigos. Inicialmente conhecida como o local de nascimento de Helena de Tróia e do Reino de Menelau (no período micênico), Esparta foi organizada como uma sociedade puramente militar no período grego antigo. Foi a cidade dos dois reis onde alguns aristocratas governaram e, claro, a cidade de onde Leônidas e seus 300 espartanos marcharam para enfrentar o exército persa das Termópilas em 480 aC.
Continuando, passaremos em frente ao estádio onde fica a estátua do rei Leonidas, marcando o ponto final da corrida do Spartathlon (Atenas - Esparta a 245,3 km).
Visitaremos o museu do azeite e aprenderemos muitas coisas sobre os produtos mais famosos da Grécia.

Nikos was a terrific guide. He was on time and in a roomy van. He drove us to the Corinthian canal, took us to Sparta, an olive museum( which is an interest to us), we walked the path in Mystra, had a lovely meal and headed home. We had a lovely day and appreciated how helpful and knowledgeable Nikos was. What a fun day!

Visit to Mystras was excellent. Great walk through the ruins of the Byzantine era city. Spectacular views of the countryside, and a very good lunch in town. Our guide Theodore was great. Very friendly, and he was a wealth of knowledge on the history of the area. The only somewhat dissapointment was Sparta. Visiting Corinth would be a better option for those who haven't been there.
Terry was our guide for this one day trip. He is very knowledgeable and we had a great conversation during the long commute to Sparta. Mystras was mesmerizing and a must visit to the archeological site while Sparta mostly was a stop by experience and we found the visit to the Sparta museum was a tad less luscious. A private tour is expensive but you get to have a more personal and flexible experience which we appreciated.

There is no better way to see Sparta and Mystras and as a fan of hoplite history, getting to see Sparta in person was an unforgettable experience. The statue of Leonidas is absolutely amazing and only a short distance away is the ruins of Mystras. It is easily one of the most beautiful sites to see and is very accessible. Our driver Andreas was also absolutely outstanding, the drive was very enjoyable and he made it all the better with his stories and insight into the areas we drove by. He was flexible with our travel and brought us to a restaurant near Mystras that was unbelievably good. This trip was worth every penny spent!

HIGHLY recommend the drive to Mystras!! Get out of the city and see the countryside!!!! It was BEAUTFUL!! Sparta was incredible. It was more about the atmosphere than the ruins, just the feeling of walking the ancient ruins was magical. Nikos was amazing. Super prompt, accommodating, full of history and FRIENDLY!! He gave us our time to explore how we wished and used the car ride to fill us in on all things Greece. Vehicle was very comfortable and the ride didn’t feel long with all of the amazing conversation. This trip is the best among the tours we have joined in recent years. The minivan is very comfortable. Our driver Theodore is knowledgeable and informative.
