Começamos nosso passeio pela manhã em Atenas, seu motorista irá buscá-lo em seu hotel ou apartamento. O tempo de viagem é de cerca de 2,5 horas.
O Tholos de Delphi está entre as estruturas antigas do Santuário de Athena Pronaia em Delphi. O templo circular, um tholos, compartilha o local imediato com outras fundações antigas do Templo de Atena Pronaia, todos localizados a menos de um quilômetro a leste das ruínas principais de Delfos, na moderna unidade regional grega de Fócida. O tholos faz parte do Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO em Delphi.
Delphi Archaeological Museum é um dos principais museus da Grécia e um dos mais visitados. É operado pelo Ministério da Cultura grego. Fundado em 1903, foi reorganizado várias vezes e abriga as descobertas feitas no santuário pan-helênico de Delfos, que data do período heládico tardio (micênico) até o início da era bizantina. Organizado em quatorze salas em dois níveis, o museu exibe principalmente estátuas, incluindo o famoso Cocheiro de Delfos, elementos arquitetônicos, como o friso do Tesouro Sifniano, e ex-votos dedicados ao santuário de Apolo Pítico, como a Esfinge de Naxos.
Visite o sítio arqueológico Delphi, um sítio arqueológico reconhecido pela UNESCO que está entre os lugares mais emblemáticos da Grécia. Nos tempos antigos era um recinto sagrado que servia como sede de Pítia, o maior oráculo que era consultado sobre decisões importantes em todo o mundo clássico antigo. O Templo de Apolo, deus da música, harmonia, luz, cura e oráculos ocupava a posição mais importante e proeminente no Santuário Delfo Pan-helênico. O edifício com a colunata parcialmente restaurada visível hoje data do século IV aC; é o terceiro templo construído no mesmo local. O famoso oráculo, a Pítia, funcionava dentro do templo, local escolhido, segundo uma tradição, devido a um abismo sagrado sob o local emitindo vapores, que eram inalados pela Pítia. Alguns escritores antigos afirmam que a Pítia então entrou em estado de delírio e emitindo gritos inarticulados, que foram então transformados em oráculos equívocos pelos sacerdotes

Christos took us on a tour to Delphi. He shared many historical facts with us during the drive, and every moment spent with him in the car was precious. We stopped for a delicious frappé. We booked last minute with this tour operator and they managed to fit in our request- including tickets to the museum . Our driver George was polite and friendly- drove safely to our stops. We were picked up from our hotel in Mercedes van - clean, modern and the journey - despite the traffic in and out of Athens- was comfortable. We arrived in Delphi in good time - words cannot describe Delphi- it is a wonder! Having grown up on reading Greek Myths - couldn’t believe I made it here! Our family of 4 enjoyed it too! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Greece.

Our driver, Bill, was great. He arrived early, navigated the early morning traffic like a champ, offered us some waters, stopped off at a scenic vista, gave us interesting facts about Archova and Delphi, recommended an excellent lunch spot in Delphi (our best meal on the entire trip), and got us back to our AirBnB in Athens safely. We’d definitely reserve Bill again as our driver and highly recommend him to anyone looking to check out the Delphi historical site and museum.

Christo was absolutely amazing! Arrived early, provided us with cold waters and a comfortable, safe ride to and from the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. He was personable and knowledgeable about Athens points of interest, Greek history and culture. While we were visiting the temple he even made us lunch reservations at a restaurant in the mountain town of Arachova where we enjoyed a delicious meal with a stunning view before our trip back to Athens. We would definitely recommend Chris to anyone looking for safe reliable transportation for a lengthy day trip or a quick ride across the city.
