Esta é sua primeira parada na cidade de Sarnath. É uma estupa maciça que se originou como tumuli pré-budista, em que os ascetas eram enterrados em posição sentada, chamada chaitya.
A próxima parada será outra estupa budista. Essas estupas evoluíram de túmulos e servem como santuário para uma relíquia do Buda.
Esta cidade abriga um grande número de templos budistas do século XX, construídos e mantidos por monges tibetanos, chineses e japoneses. Este templo abriga uma estátua do Buda Shakyamuni ou Buda em posição de descanso. Famoso por suas pinturas e afrescos de Thangka ou budistas tibetanos, o Templo Tibetano exibe muitos deles nas paredes e tetos.
Por último, mas não menos importante, você será levado a um museu. Algumas imagens notáveis no museu são a pregação de Buda, do período Gupta, e a Capital do Leão de Ashoka. Outros objetos como figuras de pássaros, animais, cabeças masculinas e femininas que datam do século 3 aC ao século 12 dC e terracotas, tijolos e potes cozidos decorados, imagens de Jain Tirthankaras Parshvanatha e Vimalanatha, etc.
