Disemark com o seu Tour Guide Depois de uma hora de barco até a Ilha Elephanta a partir do Portal da Índia, explore as magníficas cavernas. As cavernas externas foram usadas como local de culto hindu até o estabelecimento do governo português. As cavernas mais adiante são menores e são cavernas budistas. A caverna principal, também conhecida como a Gruta Shiva, contém numerosas esculturas em toda a representação de vários aspectos do Senhor Shiva, incluindo seu casamento, seu assassinato de Andhaka e muito mais. Haverá também uma escultura do Trimurti na caverna principal que é de aproximadamente 20 metros de altura. Outras alas das cavernas têm santuários dedicados aos filhos de Shiva, Kartikeya e Ganesh. Reserve e explore este Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO com um guia de Gharapuri, que é uma pequena aldeia no lado sul da ilha.
O Portal da Índia é um monumento em arco construído durante o século 20 em Mumbai. O monumento foi erguido para comemorar o desembarque do rei imperador George V e da rainha-imperatriz Maria em Apollo Bunder em sua visita à Índia em 1911.

This tour was informative. I learned a lot about religion and life in the island from my Elephanta Caves guide, Sammer. My driver, Mukesh was professional & friendly. My guide, Aarti was knowledgeable, sweet, & very kind. I would highly recommend this tour which also comes with a city sightseeing tour. This tour is a ine stop shop!
