Uma viagem de um dia de Atenas para ver as Termópilas e Delfos é uma experiência inesquecível. Esta excursão de dia inteiro começa dirigindo para o norte de Atenas, chegamos às Termópilas, a histórica passagem das Termópilas, onde ocorreu a batalha entre os persas e espartanos. Nossa próxima parada será o local sagrado de Delfos com seu Templo de Apolo. Delphi é um sítio arqueológico reconhecido pela UNESCO que está entre os lugares mais emblemáticos da Grécia. Pick up de Atenas e cerca de duas horas e meia de carro para chegar à nossa primeira parada.
Leônidas era um rei da cidade-estado grega de Esparta e o 17º da linha Agiad, uma dinastia que alegava descender do semideus mitológico Héracles e Cadmus. Leônidas era filho do rei Anaxandridas II. Ele sucedeu seu meio-irmão Rei Cleomenes I ao trono em 489 aC. Leônidas teve uma participação notável na Segunda Guerra Persa, onde liderou as forças aliadas gregas a uma última posição na Batalha das Termópilas (480 aC) enquanto tentava defender a passagem do exército persa invasor; ele morreu na batalha e entrou no mito como o líder dos 300 espartanos. Enquanto os gregos perderam esta batalha, eles conseguiram expulsar os invasores persas no ano seguinte.
Ao lado do monumento de Leônidas, nas históricas Termópilas, fica o inovador museu do município de Lamia, dedicado à batalha de 480 aC que mudou o curso da história grega.
A Batalha das Termópilas foi travada entre uma aliança de cidades-estados da Grécia Antiga, liderada pelo rei Leônidas I de Esparta, e o Império Aquemênida de Xerxes I. Foi travada em 480 aC ao longo de três dias, durante a segunda invasão persa da Grécia.

O Tholos de Delphi está entre as estruturas antigas do Santuário de Athena Pronaia em Delphi. O templo circular, um tholos, compartilha o local imediato com outras fundações antigas do Templo de Atena Pronaia, todas localizadas a menos de um quilômetro e meio a leste das principais ruínas de Delfos, na moderna unidade regional grega de Fócida. O tholos faz parte do Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO Delphi.
Delphi Archaeological Museum é um dos principais museus da Grécia e um dos mais visitados. É operado pelo Ministério da Cultura grego. Fundado em 1903, foi reorganizado várias vezes e abriga as descobertas feitas no santuário pan-helênico de Delfos, que data do período heládico tardio (micênico) até o início da era bizantina. Organizado em quatorze salas em dois níveis, o museu exibe principalmente estátuas, incluindo o famoso Cocheiro de Delfos, elementos arquitetônicos, como o friso do Tesouro Sifniano, e ex-votos dedicados ao santuário de Apolo Pítico, como a Esfinge de Naxos.
O Templo de Apolo, deus da música, harmonia, luz, cura e oráculos ocupava a posição mais importante e proeminente no Santuário Delfo Pan-helênico. O edifício com a colunata parcialmente restaurada visível hoje data do século 20 aC e, segundo relatos antigos, cinco templos diferentes foram construídos ao longo da história. O famoso oráculo, a Pítia, funcionava dentro do templo, local escolhido, segundo uma tradição, devido a um abismo sagrado sob o local emitindo vapores, que eram inalados pela Pítia.

This was an amazing experience and Chris was an extraordinary guide. The personalized trip was what made it so amazing. He had so much history and knowledge that we talked the whole trip. Seeing Thermopylae and Delphi were great, and the lunch was extraordinary over the view of the valley accompanied by amazing food!!! we had time to shop in Delphi, and I bought the authentic jewelry handmade in Greece. It was a beautiful day and would highly recommend!!!

Chris was truly wonderful. He was a great driver with lots of great insights and Greek knowledge. I loved this trip and would do it again. The car was comfortable and clean. The sites were amazing. He stopped several times for us to take pictures. We ate lunch in the town of Delphi in a small local restaurant with delicious food. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Lots of historical kmowledge!!!

It was a beautiful and very significant and perfect day for us. The first stop was the Thermopylae, which was very emotional for my husband and me. If one is interested in Greek history, the Thermopylae and the King Leonidas monument are simply a must-see. Unfortunately, the historical significance is often portrayed as less important to the uninformed, which is not the case at all. Therefore, it was all the more important for us that when we traveled to Delphi, the Thermopylae were a must. After that, we went to the museum in Delphi. It was truly indescribable and very, very interesting. It is definitely worth a visit. Following the visit to the museum, one can view the temple ruins. Our driver Chris was very friendly, helpful, and drove us safely and comfortably. We felt completely comfortable and very safe. For that, we extend our heartfelt thanks once again. We can highly recommend everything.

Nikos was a great guide! Safe and efficient driver, gave us lots of great info to learn on the trip. Thermopylae is a short stop- and that’s all it needs to be. Most time spent in Delphi which was so beautiful. Lunch was amazing with incredible food and views of the vista! Loved this day and so glad someone else drove us so we could relax!

This was an excellent experience to Delphi. George Remoundos was our driver, and he did an excellent job of making us feel safe and welcome. I appreciated the insights given, including recommendations for dinner after our tour concluded. The pace for our tour was perfect, and never felt rushed. The lunch location was beautiful, delicious, and a good value. I traveled with my wife and two teenage boys, and we all had a wonderful time. Would recommend getting out of the city to experience the countryside, and this was a pleasant means of doing so.
