It was such a beautiful experience. Dylan adapted the timings so we could coincide with arriving by cruise ship in Santa Marta. We were in awe of what has been achieved from scratch involving exploration then cutting out paths to traverse the reserve. We encountered various lush habitats & viewpoints to the sea & the Sierra Nevada mountains. It was everything we could have wished for - Dylan was careful so we could go at our own pace & provided a eucalyptus ‘trekking pole’ & a helping hand when necessary. It was a very personal experience - we shall treasure the memory of being able to share for 1 day an untouched piece of beautiful nature. Wishing Dylan & Aarran all the best in achieving their vision to preserve nature
From start to finish, this was one of the best days of our trip. We were picked up right at our hotel and taken up the mountain toward Minca. As we climbed higher, the scenery changed from dense jungle to wide open, beautiful mountain views. The hike through La Sierra was a real highlight. We passed clear streams, small waterfalls, and natural pools, and there were several spots with incredible views of both the mountains and the Caribbean Sea. Everything during the day was well organized — transportation, water, snacks, and a really good lunch made with local ingredients. Our guide, Dillon, made the experience even better. He knows so much about the plants, animals, and history of the area, and he explained everything in a way that was easy to follow. He speaks excellent Spanish and English, which made communication very easy throughout the entire day. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to disconnect for a bit and enjoy the nature of the Sierra Nevada. I’d do it again without hesitation. Rating: 5/5 — beautiful scenery, great guidance, and a very smooth, enjoyable day.
This was my favorite part of Columbia by far. Something to be said for being out in the peace and quiet of nature. Beautiful waterfalls with knowledgeable guides made us want a second experience here. Will definitely be doing again!
Best part of my trip to Colombia. We got to see some beautiful waterfalls and wildlife. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. This was truly a one of a kind, magical experience. I would absolutely recommend adding this to your itinerary. We will be coming back on our next visit!
Aaron is great fun annd a legendary guide, the adventure through the jungle was amazing, climbing upstream the river to discover two hidden waterfalls. It’s a great memory and win looking forward going back and exploring more when back in Minca!
Such an immersive experience, really get to explore the jungle and see so many different micro climates on the trail systems. Waterfalls were incredible!
Wow!!! Great trails, amazing views, virginal jungle, lots of amazing waterfalls lots of interesting facts about the ecology and area. Really enjoyed myself and would highly recommend. Forgot my phone at the VRBO, so I have no photos to share from this fun adventure.
We had the amazing opportunity to experience the San Martin Nevada Sierra experience in March. Hiking beautiful mountain trails traversing up through lush jungle, gorgeous flora and fauna we were rewarded with breathtaking vistas in all directions throughout the adventure. We even got lucky enough to enjoy wild growing raspberries along the trails. Our true favorite were the many unspoiled crystal clear cascading waterfalls, each with its own distinctive charm and vibe. The whole experience start to finish will hold a special place in our hearts and will be one of our treasured, unique travel memories. Hiking San Martin Sierra
Exploring the NSM Reserve with it’s beautiful waterfalls, stunning views and hiking the numerous nature trails was truly a special experience and one that I can definitely recommend to anyone looking for a true experience in nature! I truly loved it!
What a cool place! Really enjoyed the hike and info on the area the guide provided. Got to see a bunch of birds, butterflies and different types of flowers. The waterfalls were epic! Would go back for a stay/camp which I hear might be in the works.
