De acordo com antigas leituras de Culavamsa, a antiga cidadela rochosa de Sigiriya foi selecionada pelo rei Kashyapa para estabelecer sua nova capital. Foi uma rocha simples que ele escolheu para construir seu palácio real, depois transformada em uma construção estonteante. Ainda hoje, o planejamento por trás dessa arquitetura antiga permanece não revelado e nos mantém hipnotizados. O rei fez seu palácio neste pilar de rocha de 200 metros de altura e ornou as superfícies com afrescos vibrantes. A entrada em forma de leão dá-lhe o nome de Sinhagiri, também conhecido como Sigiriya. Hoje, continua sendo uma das atrações turísticas mais visitadas e patrimônio mundial do Sri Lanka. Levou 5 horas para ir ao site Sigiriya.
