The views were beautiful and the guide was knowledgeable. There were so many added experiences that we didn’t expect. The only drawback is that we had no time at all to really explore either town on our own. We ended up spending less than an hour in San Giamgano. We were fine, but there was a gentleman in our group with a heart condition who could not keep up at all. Anyone with mobility or health challenges should definitely not sign up for this trip as the pace is very fast and the hills are very steep.
Thank you Mark, we really appreciate you taking the time to review our tour. Hope to see you again!
Our guide Luciana Gualtierotti was excellent! She is experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly. Lunch, local artists, wine tasting, and more were wonderful. It was a great day! Grazie
Thank you so much for your words! Hope to see you again in our tours!
This was such an amazing experience! It was jam packed with information and the most beautiful sites. The best part is the tour guide was not just a local but also seemed to know everyone so it felt different from a script based tour. It felt like a friend taking you around to visit her local friends for a behind the scenes peak at these 2 wonderful cities. There is a ton of walking and it moves quick but it's the only way to see everything these cities have to offer.
Hello Kelly, thank you so much for your words, we really appreciate you taking the time to review our tour! Hopefully we'll see you again here in Tuscany!
Do not book this tour if you want to see anything in either of the towns especially San Gimignano. This tour was overall extremely disappointing. Everything was very very rushed. There was no time allowed for in San Gimignano despite what is detailed in the tour description. We spent a max 20 minutes there and that was to get the gelato. No free time was given at all. I understand that one member of the group was injured but that should not have detracted from my experience. In Volterra it was a very similar story. We were rushed through the museum and barely had a chance to look at anything. And when I stopped to take a photo it was as if I was inconveniencing the guide. Furthermore the tour guide Luciana was constantly making comments on how we needed to move faster in order to see everything in Volterra which I found very frustrating as I would have much rather done things at a slower pace even if we didn’t get to see everything. To top it off when the tour guide asked if we wanted to stop at a beautiful spot that looks back towards San Gimignano, some members of the group didn’t and some did ( myself included ) however it was decided that we weren’t going. It was very disheartening to have my voice ignored and not considered especially since I paid for this trip just like the other group members. I will not be booking anything in the future with this company. If I could give zero stars I would.
Hello Isabelle, thank you very much for taking the time to share your impressions not only on GetYourGuide but here on TripAdvisor as well. We are very sorry that you didn't enjoy the tour like most of our clients. Normally they share their reviews on GYG and Airbnb so please go check and you will see that the majority of our reviews are extremely positive :) Regarding the activity we can only say that this was your personal impression, our guide and owner of the company Luciana always tries to accommodate everyone's request, if somebody is not inclined to share the day with our customers that might have different speed or requests we always suggest to book a private tour. Next time you are wiling to book an experience - not with us - we recommend to order a private experience. Thank you so much.
A fantastic day with Luciana and Francesco ! So much seen, so much learned, so well eaten. Plus a great wine tasting. Our 11-person group has been superbly looked after and looked after.
Thank you Thomas for your kind words! We are really happy to know you had a good time and we hope to see you again in our tours! Thank you again, greetings from Italy!
Seeing the beauty of the countryside and lunch This tour didn’t follow the original description. We only had one wine tasting, no sunset, no jewelry store. Only one very long Museum visit in Volterra and then visit 3 alabaster shops (no time to really shop) Then only spent one hour in San Gimignano - very disappointed - which is the town we really wanted to see. Do not recommend this tour
Thank you Lorain for reviewing our tour, we are very sorry you didn’t enjoy the experience but we would like to explain our side: - the online description has been updated to the present one but when you booked the tour it had a slightly different itinerary, only the restaurant stop was added instead of the lunch in the winery. - we now offer lunch in the restaurant: a choice of two main courses, one second course, desserts water and wine all included. In the wineries you would have only one glass of wine and bruschettas which is much more less then you had. - Jewelry shop was closed that day so we could not stop. Our tour guide, owner and founder of the company, has more than a thousand amazing reviews for this activity, we are sorry this one time it did not match your expectations but we hope to see you again in our tours!
This is a tour not to be missed. Our tour guide and driver, Luciana, was incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and made this one of our most memorable tours. San Gimignano was lovely and the history was fascinating, however, the Etruscan town of Volterra exceeded expectations and was truly amazing. The winding roads through the mountainous terrain provided spectacular views with endless vineyards and olive groves. The wine tasting at the end of day was perfect.
Hello Stefanie, thank you so much for your words! It's been a pleasure for me, hope to see you again in one of my tours!
