É um destino turístico famoso na província de Hunan, que foi oficialmente reconhecido como patrimônio mundial da UNESCO em 1992. A formação em forma de pilar vista através do parque é o resultado de muitos anos de erosão. Com mais de 90% de cobertura florestal, a área cênica compreende Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Jinbian Stream e Wulongzhai. A cultura e os folclores minoritários estão representados nas aldeias e cidades próximas, habitadas pelos povos Tujia, Bai, Miao e Hui, fazendo viagens paralelas que valem a pena.
É o elevador turístico mais alto e rápido do mundo e oferece uma vista espetacular do pico da floresta de arenito. Tem 326 metros de altura e pode transportar 3 mil pessoas por hora nos três elevadores transparentes. Leva apenas 88 segundos para chegar ao topo da montanha.
Yuanjiajie está no canto norte do Parque Nacional Zhangjiajie. Esta área, caracterizada por altos pilares de areia formados ao longo de milhões de anos de erosão, é famosa e popular por sua montanha Hallelujah, nomeada após as rochas flutuantes do Avatar. As atrações mais populares são: Avatar Hallelujah Mountain, primeira ponte sob o céu e assim por diante.
É conhecida por quatro espetáculos naturais: as nuvens de neblina que circundam os picos da montanha, as incríveis vistas do sol nascente, as noites de luar e os picos nevados do inverno. My Zhangjiajie avatar mountain and glass bridge was great ! We had an awesome guide tour here name is Lillian . Even though our flight got delayed she gave us excellent service she waited for us checked on our flight delay and pick us up and dropped us off from airport she managed to still help us complete our tour she is very nice ! Overall great experience , incredible sightseeing view !

You could do this by yourself but why take the stress? It's a maze of queues, buses, cable car, lift, etc. Buses have multiple stops so you have to know where to alight. It's tickets and passports and face scanning. The glass bridge area is about 45m from the Avatar area and has separate admission, etc. BTW Tianmen mt is not on this tour. We thought it was well worth the price to have a guide. We got lucky w Amy who is the best guide we have had in many countries and many tours. She is friendly, funny and knows exactly where to go. The process was stress free.

Arianna was an excellent guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and allowed us to select specific activities that enhanced our tour (e.g. zipline, slide, and ferreta/cliff climbing). Tip for the slide - remove your shoes if wearing socks. Otherwise your rubber soles will slow you down significantly. The national park is spectacular. Lots of steps, shuttle rides on curvy roads, photo opportunities and snack options. Public restrooms are plentiful.

The tour was amazing from start to finish. A really nice car, there was so much to do in the tour and the guide Lillian was just exceptional. She was intelligent, multilingual, so well organised and she was kind and warm and attentive. She really made sure that we had a fun amazing experience and her descriptions and knowledge of the tour spots were perfect. Honestly probably the best organised tour I’ve ever been on. We had good viewing weather despite rain and the landscape (Avatar inspiration scenery!) is unbelievable and the elevator, glass bridge, cable car etc. are all exceptional. On what we experienced, I would strongly recommend, 10/10 from me. Thank you so much Lillian.
