Very nice museum. Wing of jewels is impervious. It is worth buying the two attractions ( museum + jewelry ). Located in the city centre, near Marienplatz.
Excellent museum with lots to see. There’s excellent history of the royal family and how the face of Bavaria has changed over 600 years. There’s excellent history. The treasury visit and theatre can be included in the ticket price of €20. Over 65’s get 20% disc. The treasury is amazing and the theatre is a must see.

This was a solo tour, mainly of the Residenz, a lot of which was reminiscent of Versailles. Very beautiful! Stéphanie was an extremely knowledgeable and engaging raconteuse of all the history of the art, the beautiful buildings, their destruction in WW II and their painstaking reconstruction.

Our tour guide was amazing. She was so informative and knowledgeable. Other tour groups would be in and out of rooms in a matter of minutes, while we spent almost double the time in them. My wife and I left the tour not only as tourists who saw things, but as tourists who learned things.

The Treasury was especially impressive. The Residence is a special place. Our tour guide Ann was very good.
An impressive tour of the residence of former crowned heads of Bavaria. All that luxury and splendour are definitely worth admiring. Particularly the shell-covered rooms and halls and the huge dining/ music hall are wonderful, next to many of the other rooms shown to eager visitors.
In 25+ years of international travel, this was our worst tour experience. The guide was not at the designated meeting place. We emailed Viator multiple times ask for her whereabouts. After our 3rd email, the guide called and said we were not in the correct place, gave her location and told us we could find her. When we did find her, she actually asked what we wanted to see..we had no idea, that's why we booked a tour. Then she told us we had paid way too much for our tickets and that they really take advantage of tourists. Once we got started, her speech was nearly impossible to follow as she frequently lost her train of thought or spoke of matters of no interest. Faced with stairs or long rooms, she would turn away without explanation expecting us to follow her even though we were left wondering what we were missing. We found her so exhausting and unhelpful that we ended the tour as soon as we came upon an exit sign. We returned the next day without a guide but purchased a most informative audio headset at a fraction of the Viator tour cost and thoroughly enjoyed touring this amazing palace.
